What is the French movie about HIV/AIDS in the 1980's?
I searched Netflix foreign documentaries and dramas, but I do not know the title! It is in French, I think, or about France, and it is about HIV/AIDS in the 1980's, I think?

What are your plans and contributions towards eradication of HIV/AIDS which is posing big threat o humanity

What are your plans and contributions towards eradication of HIV/AIDS which is posing big threat o humanity?
The dreaded disease - HIV/AIDS is claiming millions of live wordwide and no medical treatment/cure has so far been established. Creating awarenes on how best to avoid/reduce the spread is very key as most poeple are ignorance on how best to handle the situation. Yahoo is one of the best (if not the best) e-mail service provider in the world. I pesonally suggest that a colum be created on their home page that will alert/educate users / the world at large on how to minimize the spread of this dreaded disease. All hands must be on deck to bring this stuborn sickness to naught.

Abstinence!

there is an answer inside ur question .... there nothin a common man can do to eradicate the problem of aids at individual level but yes small steps towards eradication of aids can atleast motivate others to think abt the seriousness of the sub ............. it is the duty of each individual to atleast present ur views to others be open n frank to talk with ur parents, frnds, teacher...... rather than considering a taboo topic to be talked abt........... we know that we all have to be together to fight frm this evil 2ly we shd not consider hiv positive as neglected part of the society coz it can happen to anyone in the society......
3 :
There is an established treatment called HARRT. It is a cocktail of drugs that contain a slew of anti retro viral medicine and inhibitors. This drug works great in lowering the viral load of HIV and raises the CD4 TCells that HIV attack and kill. However, the treatment cannot rid you of the virus, you will still need to take treatment and suffer the nasty side effects of the drugs. You can live just as long as normal if treated early and live a healthy lifestyle, in most cases. One out of 100 white people have a natural partial immunity to the HIV virus. They become infected but the virus does not damage there immune system and they do not need treatment with HARRT. They can still infect people but never get sick or die due to a HIV related disease. The virus is optimized to spread itself. Not to worry but their will be a cure in the next 10 years or so.

Should a person with HIV/AIDS be required to disclose it to their employer

Should a person with HIV/AIDS be required to disclose it to their employer?
I'm writing a paper for my English class, and I was wondering what everyone's opinion of this is. I personally don't think so unless they are working in a job that would put them at risk to other people. Just curious as to what everyone else thinks. Thanks.

Not unless they have a risk for infecting others: such as health care workers, emergency services (police, fire, ems), and the military. There are probably more but I can't think of any at the moment. There was a case recently that you could look up, of Hepatitis C (also blood borne infection) outbreak due to a worker at a hospital with it infecting others with a dirty needle. Look up Swedish Hospital Colorado Hepatitis C, that should give you some more details about it.
2 :
yea thats personal information, only an employer would come up with that question. he probably dosnt want it to affect any of his good workers. so if he knows he can be proactive by looking for other qualfied prospects.
3 :
Normally, no. I'd say its no ones business. Let me ask you though, how would you feel if a doctor operating on you, or an EMT taking care of you was HIV positive? One little slip up on their part and you could come into contact with their bodily fluids... Person's occupations that may put them into contact with others' bodily fluids, they should be required to disclose that information to their employers. This is my opinion of course.
4 :
I don't think they should have to disclose details like infection with HIV/Aids unless their job entails close personal contact with other people. Anything where their blood could come into contact ...like dentistry for example. A job with ordinary social contact with others should not need to know details like that!
5 :
No. It is personal. However, if they are in a situation or job where they may infect others, they should be responsible and wear protective equipment (i.e. gloves, etc.)

HIV and Aids is a flase disease it doesn't exist. Parasites do! Be more careful because parasite are hard to get rid of and weaken your immune system causing you to catch other diseases.

How should a teacher deal with HIV/AIDS

How should a teacher deal with HIV/AIDS?
You are a high school teacher. You are aware that you have a student in your class with AIDS. You, personally have NO issues with this, and see the student as "just another student" I mean, we all have health issues, and a right to privacy as far as I am concerned. As far as you know, no students in your class are aware of this. What do you do? Be specific--think it through.

you teach. If the kid has issues that prevent them from doing something in the class, it's the responsibility of the parents to inform the school. the end.
2 :
I wouldn't treat the child any differently than anyone else, nor would I mention the fact that he has AIDS either. I am surprised that even you know, given the HIPPA laws. If you make anything noticeable, or treat him differently, or open your mouth about it, you open yourself to liability. I work in public safety, and we are taught to treat everyone like they have AIDS (universal precautions), but never, ever, mention it to even your coworkers. Put it this way, I can't even tell the paramedics responding that the person has AIDS. If my coworker gets that persons blood on them (in my line of work, it can happen), I still can't tell them, that's how rigid the laws are about it. So, a teacher should never mention it, you open yourself up to liability, wide scale panic among other parents, and to be honest, the unemployment line.
3 :
if u have no issue with it, don't make and issue out of it. if you treat the kid different, the kids will get the hint something is up. and then treat the kid different. do what youre doing, and everyone will be ok. good luck!
4 :
I think that Itsmeagain made a great point in that you should probably treat all students / people as though they may have HIV. So 99% of the time, there is no risk to anyone, and no need for anyone to know anything. Sharing pencils, shaking hands, kissing or whatever do not put students at risk. If a child gets a nosebleed, then you need to be careful to protect the other students, and yourself, because that student just might have a blood-borne illness. Of course, you would be particularly careful if you knew for certain that a child had HIV, but since you don't know which children DON'T have HIV, you need to treat any contact with blood the same way. Of course, the real challenge will be keeping your mouth shut if/when that HIV+ child begins to have sex with other students. Are they using protection? Is the kid being honest about the risks to their boy/girl friend? And I'll admit, that is going to be really tough. It feels as though perhaps the ethical thing to do is to break confidence to protect the other kids. But I'm afraid I have to stick with my guns and say that unless the student told you their HIV status themselves, or the parents have discussed this with you, then you need to keep silent. And even if the child / parents did tell you directly, you need to speak only with them, not with the other students or teachers. Great question.
5 :
I have HIV I also am a qualified teacher and have been for over 30 years. I am now 55. As NO ONE will pass on HIV to anyone in the 'normal' course of interaction in school, college or work I fail to really understand why you have even asked this question? As unless this student wants to tell there fellow students there is NO reasion at all why any other student needs to know!! IS THERE? As a teacher, I say just treat this student as any other - if they are open to you about their HIV to you and need some reassurance on a personal level give it to them - as believe me being HIV positive is no picnic and even if you are on medication you can have symptoms, feel tired and ill a lot of the time and have HIV medication side effects............. so this student may need a bit of empathy. But if they do not confide in you - or the other students What is the problem for you????? Your job is to teach This student's HIV is not 'danger' to you or anyone else . The only way anyone will be at risk of getting HIV from this student is to have sex with this student - which I assume you do not intend to do? If other students do or intend to - I am afraid this is not your business and as a teacher this is outside your jurisdiction . As a teacher you will never know what is really going on in your classes re your students sexuality and what sexual contact they have with each other - You just can not make any assumptions I know it is hard – but 'STOP' and rethink why you have asked this question?? And just teach - that is what you are there for!! That’s what you get paid for - you really can not interfere any further So treat this student just like any other student i.e give reassurance if they ask/request it for their ongoing and chronic health problem But beyond this - they are EXACTLY as any other person you teach at high school

I don't know. But I'm sure you can get more tips at this HIV dating site http://www.STDromance.com . There are 1000s people living with HIV/STD
2 :
It varies from person to person. For some people, the may experience flu-like symptoms within a few weeks of catching HIV. They may have a sore throat, a rash, aches, fatigue, swollen lymph nodes . This is called Acute Retroviral Syndrome. Other people don't have this. They may have HIV for many years before they develop symptoms and opportunistic infections. An opportunistic infection is a disease that normally wouldn't make you sick if your immune system was working correctly. Examples of opportunistic infections are thrush (yeast in the mouth), types of pneumonia and lung infections, meningitis, skin infections, tuberculosis, and certain cancers. HIV positive people may experience more herpes outbreaks if they have herpes already. They may have shingles, or get "colds" more often than normal. A person with HIV is considered to have full-blown AIDS when they have had certain opportunistic infections and have severely weakened immune systems If you are worried that you are infected though, don't wait until you have symptoms. Get tested!! The HIV drugs that are available can keep you healthy longer and help you avoid some of these infections.
3 :
Most people dont get symptoms, but if they do they usually come between 2-4weeks after exposure and last about a week.

What do you think about the national Register requiring people with HIV/ Aids to reported

What do you think about the national Register requiring people with HIV/ Aids to reported?
Some feel that it is an invasion of privacy and can be used to hurt the PLWA's I am Hiv Positive and I pay taxes like all of you. There are some who got this through blood transfusions also so for the one who says keep it in your pants think about that.

Well, the fact that some don't tell their partners doesn't help.
2 :
I think it is absolutely neccessary to control the spread of such a deadly disease. If people would keep it in thier pants, they wouldnt have to. -me
3 :
That is a tough question. I see the privacy issue, and that should be respected. The scary part about HIV, along with all the other STD's is that small group who just does not care if they infect anymore people because they figure everyone else should suffer, and they should not miss out just because they were unlucky. If everyone respected their ailment, and managed it, I would not go for a register at all. I would still see issues that you would chase away many from being tested, if not most. I wonder if you could have it both ways, not registered unless you get caught not telling future sex partners that results in the disease's spread?
4 :
I have a close relative wit HIV and I do think that there ought to be registry. Just for the simple fact that there are people out there that know they have the disease, but are still spreading it because they don't want to come to terms that they really have AIDS. Or maybe, just maybe. they are mad at the world because they have the disease. They're are people out there that know they have the disease and who are having sex with whomever they can. That is what is scary.
5 :
Absolutely not! What purpose does having a registry of names provide? When a person is HIV+ it is illegal for anybody to disclose that information without written consent. It's not as if you could go to your computer and look up the name of a prospective partner to find out if they are positive. Not unless you're in Florida where they have a propensity for loosing laptops with lists of names.... The government now has me listed by name instead of a number. My care hasn't changed. I still see the same doctors and get the same medications. Why they felt the need to have this much more information I'll never know nor understand.
6 :
There are a lot of reportable diseases: everything from tuberculosis to cholera. In my region, both HIV and AIDS are reportable conditions. Most regions require that AIDS be reported to the health department, but it's less common to report HIV infection. In the US, when HIV/AIDS patient data is reported to the health department, that information is guarded (like all other health data, if not more securely). Health deaprtment employees who receive and handle health data are required to abide by HIPAA guidelines. If we don't, then we get fired (and I don't know about you guys, but I need my job to pay my bills). It is important for the health department to collect data on people with HIV, We will not use it to get you fired fromyour jobs or evicted from your homes. We do need it to help us assess conditions in our community. We need to see which groups are at greatest risk of contracting HIV. We need to figure out how to plan programs to help people with HIV, whether it's targeting certain at-risk groups for prevention, or for funding treatment programs for low-income patients. So I think reporting HIV is a good thing because it helps epidemiologists like me help more people and help keep our community healthy.

I have a friend who's SUPER promiscuous, and we've lightly joked about her getting AIDS. I told her, even though it's absolutely terrible of me, to sleep with this, this, that, and this boy so the world can be a little bit better. l:
3 :
I would stay to myself.I Wouldn't kill myself, but i would stop having sex.Why should The person be mad at god,it was their fault. And if i found out somebody gave it to me knowing they had it,I would probably kill them.
4 :
I think he afraid to die alone. Or egt sick alone. He is being very selfish. I do think epopel like that deserve jail time. Who am I to judge? Would I get mad if he gave me AIDs? NO, life is short as it is . Let alone witha immune disorer. I would nto get mad life to short. I would probably eucate people about AIDs if I had it. Go out reach to kdis who ahd it and help them. Or people who ahve aids. not everyone who gets aids is a druggie, or a whore. I can tell you a true story about soemone who had AIDs. Well, my teacher went in the room she like I am going to give you a bath. She goes look in the closet. My teacher did and their was about 10 towels in there. She goes that was for every time someone said ''they were going to give me a bath.'' She was only pooping in the sink becuase she was to weak to get up and use the restroom. She had a bedpan. Her bed was by the sink. So she would try to dump the bedpan in the sink. She was dying from aids was really weak. My teacher gave her a bath. She told her she was afraid to die. Well, she then explain she never did drugs only slept with one man her husband. They were high school sweet hearts. He cheated on her and gave her aids. Her main concern was what was going to happen to the kids? She was only in her late 20s.
5 :
Im always worried that theres some immature people doing this in the world.
