Sorry, there are no vampires.
2 :
if you mean fictional vampires than that can be debated, as vampires don't get sick, but if there was still HIV in his/her mouth and fangs(like a dirty needle) then possibly. If you mean people who are "real vampires" I'm not sure, but they could quit possibly contract HIV if they bit someone with it, especially if they had a cut in their mouth.
3 :
It all depends on the type of vampire you are asking about (since there are way too many different kinds to name). But no, most of the vampires in history cannot hold onto a virus or a disease. That is why if a person is dying of...cancer and they turn into a vampire, they no longer have cancer. If you have HIV/AIDS and you are bitten by a vampire, then I suppose you could still HAVE the disease, but I doubt you could pass it on or it could still be effective. If you want, however, a vampire to be able to pass along the disease, then by all means, let him. Vampires sparkle now. Anything else is possible.
4 :
Did you seriously just ask that? Are you like five or something? There are no vampires.
5 :
weird but cool and i guess they don't get HIV or Aids but if they bite some one else they might pass it on-my verson ok (i belive in Edward Cullen)lol
6 :
Good question! I had never thought of this as being a problem... but yeah, as popular as vampires have become in the last couple of years this is an important question to ponder for all those wanna-bees!

After being HIV Positive! HIV is not something people can nor should they go through alone. To all of us who positive stay strong and need people to win this fight, whether it's family, friends or a support group, people are the key. stdloving.com is such a free site.
2 :
I would guess that maybe it means the blood cell count is borderline so they can't determine for sure if it's a sign of being HIV positive just yet. I would wait a couple of months and get another test. It usually takes a3 to 6 months to affect the blood cell count enough to determine a positive or negative result and yours sounds like it was just in between stage.
3 :
I'm thinking the person who did your test made a mistake while doing the test. It's kinda like a pregnancy test, if you don't get enough urine on the stick, the test just won't read right. Same with those types of test they do for hiv. Except it's not urine, it's blood. I would definitely go get tested again. But try not to worry, sounds like a mistake at the lab.

Lauric acid was first discovered as the main antiviral and antibacterial substance in human breast milk. It is a medium chain, saturated fatty acid that is also found in coconut products. Monolaurin is the glycerol ester of lauric acid and is more biologically active than lauric acid. Monolaurin has been shown to be active against influenza virus, pneumovirus, paramyxovirus (Newcastle), morbillivirus (rubeola), coronavirus (avian infectious, bronchitis virus), herpes simplex I & II, CMV, EBV, and HIV. Monolaurin disrupts the lipid bilayer of the virus preventing attachment to susceptible host cells. It binds to the lipid-protein envelope of the virus and inactivates the virus. Monolaurin inhibits the replication of viruses by interrupting the binding of virus to host cells and prevents uncoating of viruses necessary for replication and infection. Monolaurin can remove all measurable infectivity by directly disintegrating the viral envelope. Monolaurin binding to the viral envelope makes a virus more susceptible to host defenses.

How many different medications are needed to treat HIV/AIDS

How many different medications are needed to treat HIV/AIDS?

Usually three drugs are used. Sometimes they may all be in the one pill. If less are used resistance develops
2 :
It really depends. Some people do well one just one, some need 5, and for some, there are no medications that help. For most of the traditional strains of HIV, the current medications will help. But there are newer drug-resistant strains that are beginning to appear. For these people, there is sometimes no medication that works. Fortunately these strains are still rare.
3 :
It depends on what combination your doctor wants you on. I, for example, take 2 a day.

Please i will like you to tell me some of the mitigating factors against HIV/AIDS in Africa

One of the most critical challenge is to define and characterize HIV/AIDS counseling in S.Africa. Every day in S.Africa 1,000 more people contract HIV 5.4million by 2015 will die from this1.8 by end of 2008. This is leaving children to live either with relatives or alone in the streets so children don't understand the mess there country is in and with adults dropping dead from this disease who will teach them the disease is deadly! This affects the work force big time men dieing and leaving no one to work these jobs so inflating is causing the training process to be lower plus drug use has alot to do with poor job performance as well missed days or don't care that drug is more important than a job to some. The labor surplus is affected as well, the economy, mining industry has been hit the hardest by HIV/AIDS. Men leave home to work at these mines for months to support the family but then act out with being with another man sometimes not knowing one may have HIV /AIDS then returns home to infect the wife or G/F the cycle goes on.
2 :
Lack of education about HIV transmission: Many people in Africa who have HIV believe that having sex with a virgin will cure them. As a result, the virus is just spread to more and more people, many of whom are very young.

Why is it that Africa has more HIV/AIDS prevalence rate that the West Countries. Does this mean Africans are more sexy than the whites or Africans are less informed about HIV/AIDS

To answer your first question, there IS medicine, just not a cure. To answer your second question, a lot of them are uninformed, a lot cannot afford protection
2 :
they are less informed.

How do you get an std or hiv/aids

How do you get an std or hiv/aids?

1 :
First Question & Third Question: STD's or STI's are transmitted through unprotected sex; Vaginal, oral and anal. HIV: HIV can be transmitted when there is a sufficient amount of the virus in a persons body fluid (such as blood, sperm, or vaginal fluid) and enters another persons body through a tear or break. When the blood containing HIV comes into direct contact with a persons blood stream, they're risk for HIV transmission has increased. NOTE: Breast milk can also transmit HIV If the mother's viral load (The amount of the virus in the body) hasn't been decreased significantly. AIDS: Occurs when a persons immune system is severely weakened and has another AIDS defining illnesses, like extreme cases of pneumonia. You cant catch AIDS. Second Question: If you have sex with someone unprotected, that has an STI, there is a CHANCE you may or may not contract it; This is why they say its "Risky" Hope this helps.
2 :
I think Vita covered a lot of it, but I would like to add something. You can also use protection and still catch an std or sti including HIV/AIDS. Though this is very unlikely it is still possible. It is also a high possibility to catch Herpes or Genital Warts with or w/o protection.

HIV and AIDS affect on on people are what

HIV and AIDS affect on on people are what?
Between 5.5 and 6 million people in South Asia are estimated to be living with HIV/AIDS. What are the social, economic and spatial factors most likely to put people in the region at risk of HIV infection? What are some strategies that governments and NGOs in the region can employ to educate people, to improve and accelerate their responses to HIV/AIDS, and in general, to lessen the region̢۪s vulnerability to the epidemic?

I think to combat AIDS will be multi organization task. It is not as simple as governmental role to legislate drugs law, monogamy etc. Issue should be rooted in our personal care and role. As a unit, we should also contribute to prevent drugs user - esp in SEA, multi sexual partners - this is even difficult as the choice is on personal ground, avoiding sexually transmitted blood products etc.
2 :
How about giving the estimated 5 million people propper nutritious food to eat, how about providing adequate and affordable health care to these people. How about providing proper housing and sanitary conditions. How about providing clean drinking water to drink....what does the WHO and UN-AIDS want to give them? Condoms and HIV Medications....
3 :
The effect on people "diagnosed" with HIV/AIDS depends on their understanding and gullibility level. If they accept the spurious diagnosis techniques used in Africa, and they accept the unproven hypothesis that HIV is the cause of ANYTHING - then chances are they are going to kill themselves by ingesting the toxic drugs prescribed by local healthcare, in the service of big pharma abroad. The strategy that local governments and NGOs can employ to combat the so-called "epidemic" is to stop blaming the fictional "boogie-man" of HIV and start addressing the real health problems of the region, namely nutrition and hygiene.
4 :
Start in the schools with teens and show them what AIDS does.Have speakers.Kids are just not taught how you pay when you get it.I'm 6 years and my whole life has changed

if some1 knows that they hiv/aids and they purposely give it to you, can you file charges of attempted murder

if some1 knows that they hiv/aids and they purposely give it to you, can you file charges of attempted murder?
i've heard stories about people sleeping with other people to give them HIV/AIDS and i heard somewhere you can get the person arrested for attempted murder, is this true?

1 :
Yes, if the person with aids know that they are infected and pass it to someone else by having unprotected sex, that's basically murder.
2 :
Yes, it is a crime to have sex with someone if you know you have HIV and do not tell the other person about your infection. The person can be arrested and charges can be filed. The exact charges would vary depending on the state where the crime takes place. Charges could include anything from reckless endangerment to attempted murder. In some cases, it may not matter if the second person does not actually contract HIV. The fact that they were at risk is often enough to file charges.
3 :
It is true that in most states there is a law against having sex with someone without disclosing your HIV infection. In my state, Louisiana, it is called Intentional Exposure. It caries a ten year sentence. It isn't a charge that is used often though. It can be difficult for the victim to come forward and give up their own confidentiality to press charges. It is also very hard to prove because of the confidentiality surrounding the release of HIV test results.
4 :
Yes. It's lawless. if you can also file charges online. just need an account at the std social site pozcupid . com .
5 :
It depends. Each state has different laws, in some states it is considered attempted murder. I live in NY State and it is the belief here that if you are having sex you should have the ability to ask your partner their status and if you are concerned at all it is up to you to insist on protection. So depending where you live it is important to check the laws of your state.
