Does anyone have any idea what this HIV/Aids statistic would be

Does anyone have any idea what this HIV/Aids statistic would be?
I am estimating that around 1 in 300 people in the US has HIV or AIDS. Does that sound right to you? Does anyone know for a fact, or have a different estimate?

I do not know that for a fact, but these days I would have thought it was much lower. Why don't you telephone an STD clinic at your local hospital and obtain a verifiable figure and the reference source? Best wishes.

You are looking for a statistic called "prevalence." Prevalence refers to the number or proportion of cases existing within a population. The CDC compiles data and issues HIV statistics on a regular basis http://www.cdc.gov/hiv/topics/surveillance/resources/factsheets/prevalence.htm According to them, 1.1 million people in the US were living with HIV in 2006. Given that 300 million people live in the US, you'd be right: about 1 in 300 people inthe US are living with HIV.

well, HIV/AIDS is no cure but all we have to discover is that to becareful and respect the other who have it we do not have to hate them becuase they have it.. maybe HIV/AIDDS was there in the earth since everyone was born so it might be part of our live in my think we should just ignor like it is not there and just live our life...

What has the US done in regards to prevention and cure for HIV/AIDS, not just in US but the world at large?

they are in the process of doing alot of research to find a cure for the HIV/AIDS worldwide. Hershey, Pennsylvania is actually on of the biggest research places in the US for this cause.

interesting.....well, until it is proven to be the way to cure HIV, I will continue taking my medication.

I'll wait to hear about it from the CDC. It sounds like a possibility, but only that until it is declared a cure.
