Can HiV/aids be transmitted through contact with the toilet with your genital area

Can HiV/aids be transmitted through contact with the toilet with your genital area?
I am just wondering if HIV can be transmitted if your genital area touches an area of a toilet that has urine on it or semen? How long does it take for the virus to survive on the toilet? Can you get hiv from a bathroom at a shopping store?

i do not recommend sitting on a toilet sit if not in your home and the virus dies once it hits the air
2 :
no clue, but why the hell would you sit down on a dirty toilet? I take disinfectant wipes in my purse for those unholy moments...
3 :
No you can't.
4 :
Yes. It's possible. But only under *extremely* specific and VERY unlikely circumstances. For example, the following would need to occur in sequence and very rapidly: 1) Person with HIV and a bleeding or otherwise weeping wound on his or her genitals sits on a toilet seat, 2) the person gets up, then 3) another person *IMMEDIATELY* (and I mean a very fast tag-team effort of no more than a couple *seconds*) sits down with his or her open and bleeding wound directly on the same spot and remain there long enough for the virus to actually enter the body. In the case of semen on the toilet seat, you'd have *also* have to immediately sit down with a similar wound directly on that infected bodily fluid. And who wants to sit on a bloody, ooze-covered, or otherwise moist toilet seat? Look, HIV doesn't live very long without a host; seconds at most. And, if HIV *was* transmitted though toilet seats, many MANY more people would have HIV than already do. So, don't worry about it.

If I have a normal pap smear does that eliminate the chance of having HIV/AIDS

If I have a normal pap smear does that eliminate the chance of having HIV/AIDS?
I had unprotected sex 3 years ago, and I didn't ask if the person had HIV. We used a condom but took it off and he withdrew before he orgasmed. I had a pap smear the other month and it came back NORMAL. Would that determine if I didn't have HIV/AIDS?

1 :
No. A pap smear is to check for cancer only. It does not include any STD's, HIV/AIDS. You have to ask for these additional tests to be done and some involve cervical cultures, others involve blood testing. And, withdrawal is never a form of birth control - you can get pregnant this way and also pick up dangerous diseases.
2 :
I don't think so, HIV/AIDS needs blood test to be detected, pap test is for detecting cervical cancer or HPV, you should get tested to make sure!
3 :
no
4 :
What planet are you living on? The pap smear does not check for STDs. AT ALL. It checks for cervical cell changes that are caused by HPV, but most women with HPV have normal paps. You need an HIV test to determine whether you have HIV. A normal pap smear tells you that the chance of you having cervical cancer right now is extremely low.

you dont need a referral for std/hiv-aids testing, or the pregnancy test. however, you do need to request them and as for the hiv test you will need to sign a consent for it.

What is the best type of HIV/AIDS Treatment? And What do the people in Mozambique with Aids need the most

What is the best type of HIV/AIDS Treatment? And What do the people in Mozambique with Aids need the most?
Working on a project, me and my group are a UN team against AIDS in Africa and I'm the healthcare worker.

good luck to you. wiping out the myths running around that country is the biggest hardest task...right now men believe that having sex with a virgin will cure AIDS, good luck changing that belief.
2 :
I think most people agree the current "best" treatment is a cocktail of antiviral drugs known as Highly Active Anti-Retroviral Therapy (HAART). As for what African AIDS victims need the most, that's a tougher question. The easy answer would simply be better access to the available drugs. A more complicated answer would involve massive education programs about treatment and prevention.
3 :
the best treatments are found in Singapore. the united states is super controversial about AIDS treatment. the people in Africa need to raise awareness... have access to condoms, and know their risks. i think if they know what is out their and know the facts, they will be more prepared. also i heard they use plastic wrap? i think condoms should be more distributed :(
4 :
To be very blunt - they need caring people to help them with their daily lives. Of course the little things like HIV meds would be very nice. But, in Africa you have grandmothers hoping they'll live to be old enough taking care of their grandchildren, because the parents have died from causes related to HIV/AIDS. Food, clothing, shelter, safety all come in a close second. In many countries young women can't go out at night for fear of rape gangs. And, the gangs are often members of that country's "military" or ruling local tribe. Forget niceties like transportation, books, and computers. In many places the people would be happy for a single meal and fresh water daily.

Screw what that guy said. I think it is soooooo admirable for you to do something for the community. If you go around to local businesses and tell them what you're goals are you will begin to find some backing. Try social services and the media. You can advertise on the radio for free if it is a public service. Get the word out there. Pretty soon you will be able to put on raffles and drives and get funding to help spread the word. Try writing a letter to your local government officials to see what they can do to help. Bless you. The world needs more people with hearts like yours. Spelling is not the most important thing in the world. Where do you live?
3 :
You can contact your local AIDS Service Organization such as the Coastal Bend AIDS Foundation (CBAF), work through your local church, or contact your local Health Department. You can reach CBAF at 361-814-2001. They can usually use volunteers and friends to assist with projects they have that are ongoing. Just as an FYI some people who have contracted HIV are considered "People Living with AIDS" PLA's

Do you think that more money should be spent on curbing the HIV/AIDS pandemic

Do you think that more money should be spent on curbing the HIV/AIDS pandemic?
Many people have complained that not enough money is being spent on finding a way to bring the HIV/AIDS pandemic under control. If so, then how could this be accomplished?

No, what we should do is round em all up and put them in leper style colonies. If they leave, they get executed.
2 :
it will never be accomplished as it was designed and deployed and is doing exactly what is was designed to do...Eliminate a large percentage of the population that was deemed to be of lower value, undesirables if you will, ie Gays, Blacks, Drug users... with Gays it was deployed in the Hepatitis B vaccine in 78 and 79, then 81-82 , 1980 was a study year to see if the virus was spreading as they wanted it to, it was determined it was not, so another 2 years of the contaminated Hep B vaccine was ordered. The entire continent of Africa is slated for expiration, as they deployed AIDS in the smallpox vaccine along the same time-line, and the infection rate in Africa is tremendous, which was the intent... To the people who believe the African Green Monkey theory I have to say this, if it were the African Green Monkey that spread this disease it would have spread from the Jungles into the cities, but it's spreading from the cities into the jungles, and did not show up in the people most closely associated with contact with the monkey (The Pygmies) until the early 90's from contact with prositutes from more urban areas, and the genetic makeup of the disease is not found in monkeys. As for the drug users, we are told that HIV cannot live outside the body but for seconds, but Dr.Robert Strecker took a HIV-diseased human tissue culture and placed it in a petrie dish and placed it on a window sill for 2 weeks, then brought it down and hit it with a saline solution and re-cultured the virus... hmmm well that does not support what we are told now does it? it is suggested that AIDS/HIV is placed into the drug shipments and allowed to circulate into the country, that would justify why the rate of infection among intravenous drug users is so high, even though that by now, everyone knows not to share needles, and there are needle exchange programs all over, but the numbers keep growing.. hmmmm sounds fishy to me. How did Haiti get an infection rate so high? they sent 7000 healthcare workers to Africa to help to distribute the smallpox vaccine, they themselves took the vaccine, so 7000+ infected individuals came back to a relatively small island with an HIV infection they knew nothing about. How did South America get such a high infection rate? They were buying almost all of their whole blood from Africa during those years... hmm that would explain it wouldn't it? Don't believe what you're told by the people that pose as your protectors, you are but an unfortunate side effect of what the elite feel is necessary... in that they need YOU to pay taxes and to be their slaves, but you also take up space on the planet, valuable space that they want for themselves, and they want to exterminate the portion of the population that is undesirable.... sound familiar?... Do with this information what you will, don't email me with questions for more information, I've given you enough that your thirst for more knowledge on this subject should direct you to other sources, so that you can't claim or think it came from just one person... if you have doubts that Americans or Un-Americans for that matter could or would perpetrate such a deviant act against it's own people I urge you to read "Bad Blood" for just one example of well documented case of such... Oh and if they ever claim to have a vaccine for AIDS, DON'T TAKE IT, for you can't expect the very entity that is responsible for this disease to produce a cure for it, especially since it's doing exactly what is was designed to do... Peace...

How did the HIV/AIDs epidemic first start

How did the HIV/AIDs epidemic first start????
My sister told me that a male flight attendent had sex with some monkeys, got AIDs and had sex with a bunch of other people, spreading it. I don't believe her, but how did it start?

HIV is like any other virus - it mutates to fit the environment. It has been traced to a similar virus in monkees in Africa, but it isn't fatal in them and that specific virus doesn't affect humans. It is surmised that at some point the virus mutated and became transmittable to humans, but the exact time and location cannot be determined; it is theorized however that it most likely occured in the early to mid 20th century around the Camaroon area. The first scientifically accepted death from AIDS dates back to 1959, with earlier cases suspected.
2 :
well when aids was first discovered back in the 70's the closest thing to aids that was found was discovered in primates in Africa. Now given mans ridiculous perversions it may not be totally unfeasible that some African made love to an ape or performed some unmentionable act of bestiality and then went on to make love to African women who in turn passed it on untill of course ladies of ill repute had the virus. Now enter stage left the flight attendant (yupp he existed) and he was Bi-sexual to boot as well. he then went on to have lots of fun in LA and the rest is history. It was originally widespread in the gay community but now as we all know has spread worldwide and no one is safe from its clutches if they aren't carefull. there are actually imbeciles out there who want to be Gifted the virus Go figure they crave to be infected I Watched an alarming documentary a cople of months ago in the uk about these morons
3 :
OK. Yes, HIV mutated from Simian Immunedeficiency Virus and began spreading in the human population. HIV-2, a different strain of HIV also decended from a relative of the SIV. The male flight attendant/sex with monkeys myths are still around which is very disturbing to me. Try having sex with a wild primate. It would probably kill you or at least cause damage. It is highly unlikely and speaks more to our racist thinking than anything else. Primates were a source of food. Hunters hunted and killed them, cut them up for meat and were exposed to large amounts of the primate blood. It is from here that a few people were most likely infected with a strain that became HIV. The flight attendant case was a horrible travesty of justice. Dumas? I think his name was. When HIV was first being looked at epidemiologically (shortly after discovering that something was making gay men sick), this Dumas gentleman seemed to be the index case. This was taken up by the media and this man was vilified. He was not the cause of the spread of all HIV and probably not even of that original group. The first cases of known AIDS occured before Dumas was even born.

developed countries please can you help hiv/aids moving coarpse in botswana to get arv in time

developed countries please can you help hiv/aids moving coarpse in botswana to get arv in time?
Botswana is not able to give HIV/AIDS patients ARV treatments when the patient's cd4 level is not below 200, but 99% of the patients are really surferring and most are dying before they get the help from the government because the government is saying it doesn't have enough money to buy the ARV and help anyone living with HIV/AIDS. Please am appealling to the developed countries to help. Botswana is a small populated country of which the way people are dying from HIV/AIDS in 10 years to come Botswana will need 30 minutes to count its remaining lucky people around the country. Please please help we are surffering, we are dying

You can't get HIV/AIDS unless you exchange bodily fluids. If you touch infected blood and you have a cut on your finger, you may have been exposed. Get tested.
2 :
Um, are you trying to get people to send you money or something? Botswana is being helped by many, many countries and the government spends a large portion of their annual budget on HIV/AIDS treatment. "Most funding for HIV/AIDS programmes in Botswana is supplied by the national government, which spent around $150 million in 2005 (six per cent of the national budget).12 The most significant initiatives supported by foreign donors are the African Comprehensive HIV/AIDS Partnerships (ACHAP) and the BOTUSA project. ACHAP is a collaboration between the Government of Botswana, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the Merck Company Foundation. ACHAP was established in July 2000 and is dedicated to supporting Botswana's HIV/AIDS response through 2009. The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the Merck Company Foundation have each committed $50 million towards the project, and Merck is also donating two antiretroviral drugs. As of June 2005, ACHAP's total programme spending was just over $41 million.13 In 1995 the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Botswana Government began a collaboration called BOTUSA, to work on public health research and programmes to combat TB as well as HIV/AIDS. BOTUSA has grown substantially since 2000, and is now part of the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR).14 PEPFAR contributed $55 million to HIV/AIDS programmes in Botswana in Fiscal Year 2006 alone.15 With help from these and other partners - including the Global Fund, the Harvard School of Public Health, the Bristol-Myers Squibb Foundation, and numerous faith-based and community-based organisations - Botswana is mounting one of Africa's most comprehensive programmes of HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment and care. " http://www.avert.org/aidsbotswana.htm We are helping and I think this is a hoax posting. If not, then I am sure you all have heard of CONDOMS by now? Get them. Use them. Any and every time. Don't use IV drugs. Be responsible for your own behavior. If you have access to the internet, you know how to get the information to prevent getting it.
