No, probably not. What you probably have is a cold. Flu always has a fever.

From below: Symptoms : After first being infected, a person may have no symptoms for a long time. Sometimes though, within approximately 2 two weeks, they'll get what they may think of as just some kind of "flu". Such symptoms tend to be a fever, headache, a rash, sore throat, and swollen lymph glands. Since, if they get these "flu"-type symptoms, they'll usually happen between two to six weeks after they actually get infected, most people would not connect what they think is a regular "flu", to being infected with HIV. " On the other hand, 'tis the season for perfectly normal stuffed nose and cough, which is the most likely cause. If you want to be sure, get tested in another two months for nearly 100% certainty, 5 more months for 100% certainty.

Not really. It takes anywhere from 3-6 months for the hiv virus to go through the incubation period within a person's system after exposure before a person could even begin to sero-convert and begin to produce anti-bodies to the hiv virus. Now that we have better hiv testing methods, I would recommend that the individual test with the rapid-oral test that gives accurate results within about 20 minutes and doesn't require giving any blood. The individual can now go to any lgbt center for a referral as to where to get the rapid-oral test or the standard hiv test. Good luck.
