What laws does Texas have regarding partner notification for HIV, AIDS, and other sexually transmitted?
Infections I can not find the answer. I am going nuts looking for it.

As far as I know, there are no laws re: other STDs, but if you know you have HIV, the virus that can lead to AIDS, and you have sex with other people without telling them about the infection, you can be charged with a felony and spend many years in prison. (I think laws re: notification for HIV exist in all states in some form. Wording may be different, though. In some states it may be called attempted murder, other states may have different wording. Check with your state's Dept of Health for more info. If they do not have the info, they should be able to tell you where you can get it.)

Can anyone explain why we have HIV, AIDS and STDs in the black community?
Please explain reasoning for this issue that's taking over the black community.

I don't think the black community has a corner on the STD market. It is also rampant in high schools, colleges, and all other parts of society. People have sex without protect. That is the reason.
2 :
S.T.D's are ripe in almost every community. It is sad, as so many people will suffer, all because they slept with someone and could not be bothered to use a condom. Every county and every country is having a total epedemic.
3 :
If male and female virgins was to marry before having sex and kept their vows, STDs wouldnt be so common, but unfurtunatly people choose to fornicate and have multiple partners. STDs is the cuase and curse of not being Obedient to G-ds Commandments.

Does anybody know how accurate the tests for HIV/AIDS are when you are pregnant?
When I was pregnant with my son I signed a consent form to have my obgyn test me for HIV/Aids but I never heard anything after that. Does anybody have any stories to share? I am just wondering. Thanks

The test's accuracy is not affected by pregnancy. The reason they test you is so that they can protect your child. If the mother is HIV positive, the baby can be given anti-retrovirals and not breastfed, and this drastically reduces the risk of transmitting the virus.

It's mostly correctly tested, but no accurate percentage. My friend on the STD social & dating site called pozcupid .com has the same problem with you. You may ask her. She has blog there.

An HIV test is fairly accurate after 6 months of exposure to the virus. It looks for HIV antibodies, which can take 6-12 months for your body to produce if infected.

Try this one. It is VERY important that people think in terms of sustainable, non-government health-care. Not dumping dollars on Africa in response to bumper-stickers.

$15 Billion dollar pledge to help Africa's hardest hit areas, for one thing. Cutting edge research into drugs, for another. Ever hear of the "triple cocktail" that came out in 1996? That was funded with U.S. dollars (Chinese doctor educated and working in U.S., and his team). That gave AIDS patients an 8-year reprieve from the virus' main effects, but isn't a cureall, of course. Oh, and the first commercially active HIV tests, which could have given a society brave enough to test themselves an effective cure (as in stopping the spread of this awful virus).

Can you get HIV/AIDS from a scissor used when getting a pedicure at a salon?
Hi, Today I got a pedicure and by accident she pinched me with the scissor. It bled for like 2 seconds, but then she put a substance that contained some kind of disinfectant. After about 10 hours of the pedicure, I got a light fever, 99 degrees Fahrenheit/37.4 degrees Celsius. Could this be a threat? I'm like, pooping my pants of fear right now. What are the symptoms?

No-- not at all! The virus is killed instantly when it hits the air. The only reason it lives inside a needle is because it's air tight inside. Also, you wouldn't notice any symptoms that fast at all. You might have the flu though!

You would not have any symptoms of HIV infection for about 2 more weeks even if you were infected. Also, they are supposed to place all of their tools in a container you can see that is filled with (usually a blue colored) anti-septic cleaner for just such situations, as well as lice control.

Relax. HIV is not going to live on the scissors. It would be dead IF there was anything there. If you are really worried go get a HIV test done now and again after 3 months. Good Luck

HIV is actually pretty hard to transmit through means like this. The only reason injection drug users get it is because they pull blood into the needle to make sure they got a vein, inject, and then pass it on immediately to the next person. In order to get HIV from the scissors she would have had to stab someone who's HIV+ first and then immediately stab you! Since there wasn't any blood on the scissors, you're ok. You're much more likely to get athlete's foot from a pedicure!

Idk if it's true or not. But I had unprotected sex last night and I woke up in the morning with a hard pain in my throat, like everytime I swallow it hurts or if I drink water. But I was drinking and smoking alot last night also? One of the symptoms is swollen lymphs or what ever it's called do I have HIV ?
