How should I present my project (HIV/AIDS in the LGBT community)

How should I present my project (HIV/AIDS in the LGBT community)?
I have to present a project in my class tomorrow. The topic is HIV/AIDS in the LGBT community. Every other group has done PowerPoint slides and I refuse to follow the boring trend. Any ideas would be extremely helpful!! Please keep in mind the topic so as to not go too far off the map and offend anyone. Thanks in advance!! :)

I might suggest one point. Explain the actual origin of this, The origin is not from gay people but is believed to be from the African Green Monkeys killed and eaten by you guessed it! Heterosexual hunters! Google it and see, Sharon

You would be really famous and rich at the same time.
2 :
Well famous and rich of course, lots of people will be happy and making lots of love then the population would grow.
3 :
although it would be truly amazing if you could do such a thing for the world. I do believe that the "gov" would make sure no one would get it. But Ive heard things abut food grade peroxide you might want to start your research there
4 :
Here is what you would do (from someone in cancer research): 1. Go to college and study molecular biology/virology/biochemistry/or pre-med. 2. Go on to get a Ph.D. (which would be even more specialized towards your desired research). If you want to work with human diseases, it is also helpful to get a medical degree at the same time (its called an M.D./Ph.D. program and is available at many universities). 3. The salary varies greatly for researches. If you get an M.D./Ph.D., you would be making ~$120k per year after the first couple of years. For just a Ph.D., it would be a bit lower (~$80k per year). This depends a lot on where you work, what type of job you get, how many grants you get for research, etc. And, it will go up with experience. Unfortunately, from the time you start college until the time you are making this amount of money, it is probably 10-12 years. 4. If you were to discover the cure: If you worked for the government or university, then the findings would be "public" and you wouldn't get much as far as money is concerned. If you worked for a private company, then the company would own the rights to the cure. . . and you might get a nice bonus. . . but it wouldn't make you rich. There would be recognition and admiration among your peers, and you would certainly get a bigger salary and lots of job offers. . . but if you are wanting to do it, probably best to be motivated by a desire to help mankind and not by money.
5 :
The government actually has a patent for the cure, go to the government patent site and put in this number - 5676977 it's the patented cure for AIDS, called Tetrasil . The first USA man, Dr. Boyd Graves, who has received the injection in November 2001 in Southern California for about $10, is still symptom free to this day. He actually has had law suits against the US government a few years before finding out about the cure. If you want to read more about him, follow the link below. The distributor of Tetrasil or Imusil is Marantech Holding LLC .
6 :
nothing, the government has a cure

What is the Population of HIV/AIDS in America

What is the Population of HIV/AIDS in America?
I was just wondering if there is a link or if anyone knows what the population of HIV/AIDS in America is? Or even more specific by State even.

The CDC has a group who studies HIV/AIDS. Their Web site is http://www.cdc.gov/nchhstp/. You should be able to find good stats there. State profiles are found at http://www.cdc.gov/nchhstp/stateprofiles/usmap.htm. Just click on the state you're interested in. It is quite true that many available stats are older, but that is the nature of stats. With regards to the web site listed in the second reply, where are they getting their stats? And should we not at least question any site that is being sponsored largely by major pharmaceutical companies who stand to gain financially from the sell of drugs?
2 :
I find the CDC's statistics to be very dated. I prefer to use the statistics from www.thebody.com - http://www.thebody.com/index/whatis/demo_usgen.html

I would suggest that you contact an infectious disease specialist at your local hospital, or your local Health Department or Planned Parenthood. Since test results are confidential, you may have trouble finding a young person willing to be interviewed, but your hospital, Health Dept, or Planned Parenthood may have some suggestions for you. Also, you could talk to the teacher who assigned the project to see if he/she has any ideas. Good Luck!

Can we say is it early symptom of HIV aids

Can we say is it early symptom of HIV aids?
I had unprotected sex one month and few days ago. After one month and few days I suffered from flu but the symptoms were caf, no fever, no head ach, thick nose fluid and no rash, no swollen lymph nodes. Can we say is it early symptom of Hiv aids?

No, probably not. What you probably have is a cold. Flu always has a fever.
2 :
when HIV virus enter body within 2 to 3 days there light fever and rashes...
3 :
Just to be safe, go to the doctor. Good luck. ------ Want to know more about masturbation without having to ask? Myths, facts, and more interesting things to learn about right here; http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/2669125/lets_change_the_term_std_into_save.html
4 :
From below: Symptoms : After first being infected, a person may have no symptoms for a long time. Sometimes though, within approximately 2 two weeks, they'll get what they may think of as just some kind of "flu". Such symptoms tend to be a fever, headache, a rash, sore throat, and swollen lymph glands. Since, if they get these "flu"-type symptoms, they'll usually happen between two to six weeks after they actually get infected, most people would not connect what they think is a regular "flu", to being infected with HIV. " On the other hand, 'tis the season for perfectly normal stuffed nose and cough, which is the most likely cause. If you want to be sure, get tested in another two months for nearly 100% certainty, 5 more months for 100% certainty.
5 :
I seriously doubt it...
6 :
I think that this is not early symptoms of HIV but ipask doctor
7 :
I also have issues with HIV. I posted my question on wish123 and got an answer from an expert who solved my problem. Highly recommend the website.
8 :
Not really. It takes anywhere from 3-6 months for the hiv virus to go through the incubation period within a person's system after exposure before a person could even begin to sero-convert and begin to produce anti-bodies to the hiv virus. Now that we have better hiv testing methods, I would recommend that the individual test with the rapid-oral test that gives accurate results within about 20 minutes and doesn't require giving any blood. The individual can now go to any lgbt center for a referral as to where to get the rapid-oral test or the standard hiv test. Good luck.

What does drug or heroin addiction have to do with HIV/AIDS

What does drug or heroin addiction have to do with HIV/AIDS?
I keep on hearing from my mom that engaging in drugs would only make me dumber and give me HIV?AIDS. She knows I've been hanging out with some people who do drugs. I haven't tried it, but I'm just curious. I get the dumbing down part, the HIV part, I don't get. What does that have to do with heroin or other drugs?

1 :
Truth is, drug abuse and HIV/AIDS are almost inseparable. This is because there is a proliferation of drug paraphernalia sharing. Tourniquets, needles, cotton swabs and cookers are being used by those who do drugs and thus make it easy for the other person to become inflicted with the disease, especially because the virus is easily transmitted to another person by an infected blood or body fluid's contact with an uninfected person's mucous membranes, blood, or broken skin. Also, a person who is under the influence of drugs may have very little control of his own actions. This can cause him to be particularly impulsive and uninhibited, therefore causing him to make rash decisions. This can lead to him performing unsafe sexual activities like performing the intercourse with an infected partner. Once the patient is infected with HIV, this further dulls the brain and puts the individual's life in grave danger. I hope you don't try drugs. It's not worth the risk and the trouble you'll put yourself in.
2 :
Due to intravenous drug use (the sharing of needles) can give a person a higher risk of contracting the HIV/AIDS disease.
3 :
she is talking about the needle use and sharing needles to get the high. also once you start to use you are letting your defenses down, and will be more subject to sexual acts that normally you wouldn't do if you were straight, and that is also a risk factor in inheriting HIV/Aids.
4 :
heroin addiction and HIV/AIDS have a relationship because of the sharing of needles and sometimes because of unprotected sex. But even more related to heroin addiction is Hep A, B and C.
5 :
Drugs itself do not cause or infect AIDS. However, the re-use of syringes, needles and careless sex while in influence of drugs does increases the risk of having AIDS. Why destroy your life with drugs.... Hard Work, Sports and Yoga can give you the same 'high' feeling and it is much more long lasting, cheaper and 'high'-class. Be Safe.
6 :
The second guy is right. It is because they are so hooked on heroin that they dont care about cleanliness or self-respect. It over rides all thinking about decency and morality. So they share needles. Most users would have a guaranteed dose of Hepatitis, especially if they share with people who have been to prison. The risk of AIDS is great when people share needles. I have used many drugs. Heroin isn't one of them. Speed is bad too. I have never injected drugs. I smoked lots of weed, and even that is a mistake. Never take heroin or speed. EVER. Also, never hang around with heroin users. Crystal meth is just as bad, but I still think heroin is the most stupid drug to ever take. Just don't.... Please. Don't use meth either. It is dangerously addictive. Just don't.
7 :
Your mom is a little misinformed. People who shoot heroin have a tendency to be careless about the needles they use. That carelessness puts them at risk to catch HIV. Since HIV is not transmissible through casual contact, however, you aren't at risk by simply spending time with people who are at risk. But then, isn't becoming dumber a good enough reason to stop hanging out with those people?
