How can we educate people in Africa and around the world about the dangers of HIV/AIDS and how to prevent it

How can we educate people in Africa and around the world about the dangers of HIV/AIDS and how to prevent it?
AIDS has ravaged the third world, and left millions of people dead. The way to stop it lies not in cures and treatments, but in education. We must get the message across to the populations of developing countries that they can stop this deadly disease, but only by stopping it from infecting people in the first place.

Well you know the old saying don't you?? You can bring a horse to water but you can't make him drink it. Same with people my dear.
2 :
Problem is that even IF you educate everyone, some people won't care or still think they are lucky. Some may even believe a cure is just a few years away. So either way they won't take precautions. Plus since you can transmit it with needle injects, blood transfusions, etc, you may still spread it even if you don't have sex. Only ways left to stop it: 1) develop a real cure or vaccine 2) permanent quarantine of those infected
3 :
The only way that I know of preventing people from engaging in risky behavior is through education and training....While Africa may be considered one of the 'hot spots' for new HIV cases, Southeast Asia also struggles with escalating numbers of new cases (i.e. China, Bangladesh, India, etc.)...all we as a people can do is offer support and new tools to inform people of ways to minimize exposure to the disease.
4 :
good points you make.

If 10% of the average $907 that Americans spent on Christmas gifts went to children in need, 42 million children could be helped for an entire year according to statistics provided to me during an interview with World Vision. This year, I conducted an experiment, and asked for donations to World Vision and Heifer.org instead of Christmas gifts. Many folks simply chose to give me gifts anyway, but many did make donations instead, resulting in $137 going to these charities. I also have a website where I sell art to support these two fine Christian organizations. The next time you need art for your walls, please consider my website. My personal favorite of my own work is Stir the Groove3. Recently I have had several new artists donate to this cause also If you know of artists who might wish to join this charity model, please send them my way. http://finerworks.com/gallery.asp?u_id=r... Drink a lot of water before you play and right after you play.
2 :
Carry a bottle of water always and count how many you are actually drinking so you know if you are getting enough. You should be resting when you body says to rest. Now that you have these 2 things, your bodies immune system in weaker and compromised. You can't push yourself like the average person. LISTEN to your BODY. Rest and stop and sleep when you body says too or you are going to get sick.
3 :
Well I don't know if this will help, but a lot of the time when I go jogging in the morning i drink gatorade it helps me from getting dehydrated it's not very good but it works for me.
4 :
Have you had your blood sugar checked recently? Excessive thirst can be a symptom of high or low blood sugar. It's seemingly unquenchable.

I recently got my bangs trimmed by someone who had a sore on their finger could I get hepatitis or HIV/AIDS

I recently got my bangs trimmed by someone who had a sore on their finger could I get hepatitis or HIV/AIDS?
I recently got my bangs trimmed by a man who had an un bandaged sore on his finger, he looked very untidy, and the sore wasn't bleeding or oozing from what I could tell. But I have dry scalp and tend to get sores on my scalp as a result, could this guy have given me hepatitis or HIV/AIDS?

1 :
wow. why did you let him cut your hair? Anyway, prolly not, and you should soak your scalp with neem oil about once a week, then wash out the oil with a gentle neem based shampoo.
2 :
No. You wont be the first to make history.
3 :
No worries! HIV can only be transferred through open wounds to the blood. You definitely do not have HIV. The sores on your scalp are just from having a dry scalp (I know. I have a bad problem with dry scalp also and have to use a special shampoo).

What is your opinion on a situation when a woman becomes pregnant but has HIV/AIDS

What is your opinion on a situation when a woman becomes pregnant but has HIV/AIDS?
A woman who is HIV positive and pregnant has a huge risk of transmitting the virus to her baby if she decides to follow through with her pregnancy. Would you recommend for women with HIV to get an abortion to prevent the risk of harming their child? Why or why not?

1 :
I highly look down upon that. I think that because that woman knew that she was dying and she has a contagious diesease, she should have made sure that she was protected and had no chance of getting pregnant. Further more, she not only gave this diesease to a baby that will have a very short life, but she also gave it to whoever she was impregnanted by. It's a very selfish act. Even though she is probably happy to have the baby, I thinnk that she should abort. Save the baby from all the pain that it is going to have to endure after it is born. It's not fair that it should be cursed with those dieseases. Though, if she decided to follow through, then that's her choice. Though it is a very selfish choice, and the doctors who deliver her baby are going to have to be extremely careful, because they can easily get the dieseaser also.
2 :
Depends on the female if she could have the baby ok or not if she were raped or family member did this In some cases the answer would be abort asap the other may be go ahead and have the baby. If a woman is pregnant the baby is already infected with the disease from jump street straight up!!!!!!!!!!! No one should be able to make that kind od direction for a woman unless she is mentally disable
3 :
actually the baby has a really slight chance of having it.and the baby will be tested for a very long time(repeatedly after it's born, because hiv/aids CAN show up later on). so if the woman has a caring and devoted partner that agrees to look after their child in the event that she may lose her life, then I think it's fine.
4 :
If the woman is taking ARVs & the baby gets them for its first 6 weeks, the risk of transmission to the baby is reduced by 70%. Also, with HAART people can live long, relatively health lives. Women should not be denied the opportunity to have children because they have HIV. It should be a personal choice.
5 :
I would not recommend an abortion. These days, with proper treatment, the risk of transmission of HIV through pregnancy is actually very low. Women who are pregnant and have HIV can take medications and have C sections, which will reduce the risk of transmission of the virus to the baby to 1%. However, since risk of transmission can not be completely eliminated, women who have HIV should think very carefully about the risk and what they are getting into before deciding to have children. (I'm not saying they should decide not to have kids, I'm just saying they should think about it carefully before making a decision.) (Women who are HIV+ should not breastfeed, because the virus can be transmitted through breastfeeding.)

Can people with HIV / AIDS / STDs have sex without infecting their partner

Can people with HIV / AIDS / STDs have sex without infecting their partner?
I am not discriminating, just curious. I have always wondered if it is possible for a person with a non-curable disease that can be transmitted sexually to be intimate with someone else and have NO RISK OF INFECTING THEM. Obviously, I know condoms are not 100% effective. If a person has HIV/AIDS, and they know there is even a small chance they could infect their partner, how can they bring themselves to have sex? I would rather be celibate than risk infecting someone if I were infected myself! And this applies to oral sex, kissing, etc. HIV, for example, can be transmitted through any bodily fluid, as far as I know. BTW, people with HIV/AIDS can get it through many avenues not involving sex, so don't lecture. I know this already. So, can someone with HIV/AIDS have sex/kiss/be intimate with absolutely no risk of infecting their partner?

I think that magic johnson did not give it to his wife. I am thinking that it is possible to not infect someone but I would not take that chance. I also think that kissing someone and not catch aids is bull crap because they say do not let anyone use your toothbrush if you have Aids so why would they say this about a toothbrush, and then say you can not catch Aids from kissing.
2 :
nope. there is always a chance. even in kissing if they have herpie sores in their mouths you can get infected.
3 :
A spermicidal foam/jelly and latex condom used together are very effective. Both parties assume the risk with full knowledge of the consequences. It's their choice. We just can't impose our own values on others.
4 :
It's possible to have sex and not give someone the disease you have but there is no 100% effective prevention method. I've slept with a few women in my day and wound up with only things that could be cured (luckily) but the point is, I still wound up with them! You cannot be absolutely sure you will not catch or transmit a disease unless you just don't have sex or do anything else that involves exchanging bodily fluids!
5 :
Nope
6 :
well i have studied this matter and you cant cant it from a insect because it can't live in an insects body. and no you can't catch aids from some one who does not have the virus.

well statistics shows that AIDS is the number one killer for black women ages 25 to 35, 1 in 5 people actually has some form of H, which is HIV HPV or HSV....... that's a big number. after a while it will be almost impossible to find someone that is not infected with an STD, I guess the FDA will finally approve on a cure of HIV and AIDS as well as HSV... shhhhhh...... we arent suppose to know that.

Can i use noni juice and moringa to reduce hiv/aids infections

Can i use noni juice and moringa to reduce hiv/aids infections?
some people said noni juice and moringa can cure every desease, including cancer, hiv/aids, diabetes, etc...

I don't think juice cures anything but thrist..you need to learn a few facts about diseases... www.google.com and read
2 :
Think about it. Do you not think that if Noni Juice would cure every disease, the medical community would be handing it out by the bucket full. Whoever the "some people" you refer to are, they are not well informed.

should people with hiv/aids be deported from the united states

should people with hiv/aids be deported from the united states?
Do you think people with HIV/AIDS in the united states should be deported from the country since there unfit to live.

i wish you get infected
2 :
I think you should be deported.
3 :
no but i think they should be castrated
4 :
No, as a Christian I believe that we are not to judge others but to love others.
5 :
Um...sure.
6 :
no, rather the scientists that made the disease called 'aids' should have been exterminated. they made the disease themselves,
7 :
does your mommy know you are playing on the pooter again?
8 :
i don't think so but it is being done and i think it's wrong
9 :
What if they're native to here? You're going to kick them out of their own country?
10 :
No
11 :
Dude, what the hell, you need to get a life instead of coming on here and exposing your extreme ignorance and arrogance.
12 :
troll
13 :
1. Why? 2. To where? 3. You have NO idea how deportation works, huh? 4. I don't blame you; I blame the education system. ~
14 :
No. They should be arrested for infecting someone though without the other person's knowledge. EDIT Why did I get thumbs down? Are you saying it should be perfectly legal to infect someone with HIV without telling them first? Literally, it's gradual murder. And most people don't have enough money to pay for all the drugs you need for prolonged life
15 :
Deporting people for being infected with a disease is totally wrong. What happens when it goes to diabetes, cancer, and eventually migrates to obesity and we deport the whole country then?
16 :
Dumbass.
17 :
No, having a disease is no crime and not sufficient cause to remove anyone from the US. Also, HIV/AIDS can be controlled remarkably well nowadays in countries like the US.
18 :
Why are they unfit to live? And why should they be deported? To where? Being sick is not a crime, nevermind something worthy of deportation. I hope you're not serious.
19 :
it would be nice if we could deport people without brains or compassion, but i wonder who would take them.
20 :
Why? It is very unfair. Now think of it as if you had AIDS. Want the US to deport you out in the middle of no where for having such a thing?
