I hadn't heard of a "Heather' diet and Google came up with "raw foods/vegetarian" diet. In general terms a vegetarian diet will lower blood pressure but ANYone should consult their doctor about BP. The causes and effects are linked to many factors so you can't just say: Diet = blood pressure change. Your doctor knows what your medical history is, what medication you are on and whether a particualr diet will give you the right balance of nutrients and fats and vitamins and minerals....

im not sure it is possible

Is there a possibility that mosquitoes can transmit the HIV/AIDS virus

Is there a possibility that mosquitoes can transmit the HIV/AIDS virus?
If it can be transmitted through sexual contact, and from sharing needles can it be transmitted if a mosquito sucks the blood of an infected person and then goes and sucks the blood of a non infected person. Its not like the mosquito cleans its little sucker after every drink. I don't think this is a stupid question. I'm just wondering what y'all think.

Mosquitoes cannot transmit aids. Rutgers entomology professor Wayne Crans has published a cooperative extension fact sheet on this called "Why Mosquitoes Cannot Transmit AIDS." This is available on the web at the link pasted below. The primary reasons cited in the article are: 1. Mosquitoes Digest the Virus that Causes AIDS 2. Mosquitoes Do Not Ingest Enough HIV Particles to Transmit AIDS by Contamination 3. Mosquitoes Are Not Flying Hypodermic Needles (i.e., a mosquito that disgorges saliva into your body is not flushing out the remnants of its last blood meal)
2 :
The results of experiments and observations of insect biting behavior indicate that when an insect bites a person, it does not inject its own or a previously bitten person's or animal's blood into the next person bitten. Rather, it injects saliva, which acts as a lubricant so the insect can feed efficiently. Diseases such as yellow fever and malaria are transmitted through the saliva of specific species of mosquitoes. However, HIV lives for only a short time inside an insect and, unlike organisms that are transmitted via insect bites, HIV does not reproduce (and does not survive) in insects. Thus, even if the virus enters a mosquito or another insect, the insect does not become infected and cannot transmit HIV to the next human it bites. http://www.cdc.gov/hiv/resources/factsheets/transmission.htm

Hi there, that is NOT a dumb question and millions of dollars have been spent on this question. The answer is no, they can NOT spread HIV from visiting a person with the illness and then biting you after them. And here is why. Yes, you do have a blood to blood transfer, which is necessary for the virus to be spread from one body to the next body and yes, the virus is alive in the misquitoes. However, they can not carry enough of the virus in them to catch it themselves, so for that same reason, they can not transfer it to another person. Even if you were bitten by a hundred misquitoes, all of which had just bitten an HIV person, combined, they would not have enough of the disease in the blood they take from a person to transmit the virus from them to you. So, no worries, you can not catch it that way. If you don't believe me, here is a link to the CDC (center for disease control): http://www.cdc.gov/hiv/resources/qa/qa32.htm

troll. ._. you can't get rid of HIV/AIDS.
2 :
It's a virus.... You can't. But you can treat it so it won't kill you. Nice job, buddy. Shoulda just put a condom on and saved yourself the aggravation. Besides don't sleep with sleazy girls.
3 :
Bloodletting. You open up a few veins in a warm bath and make sure you let all the AIDS blood out. It might take a long time so make sure you open them wide. Try not to pass out, it usually doesn't end well.
4 :
you die
5 :
dude you cant... im really sorry but theres not a cure..
6 :
Okay how old are you? Thats a dumb question to ask to get rid of. Have you tried going to the clinic ASAP to see what can be done. As for a cure people are living longer from it. HIV is what you recieve before it develops into AIDs. The best thing to do is go to the clinic with the papers and be honest with EVERYONE so it doesnt spread
7 :
you CAN NOT get rid of HIV which develops into AIDS over time, it is an incurable disease and im very, very sorry that you have it. it is a terrible, life-threatening disease that weakens the immune system. tell your mother, be SURE to tell your girlfriend, she should get tested immediately. best of luck to you.

If you see in India also. The rate among the poor undereducated people is soaring... We need to continue to push for education on the issue of AIDS.

AIDS patients need extra nutrition and money in order to deal with their disease. As a volunteer for Heifer International, I'm familiar with their reasons for making assistance to mothers with HIV/AIDS one of their special intitiatives. Heifer provides goats to mothers with HIV/AIDS to provide them with milk for extra protein to strengthen their immune systems and to sell for extra cash to pay for medication and transportation to AIDS clinics. This helps them extend their lives and take care of their children: hopefully leaving fewer orphans. If you want more on Heifer's perspective go to http://www.heifer.org/site/c.edJRKQNiFiG/b.485981/ There is certainly more to your question: this is just one part of the answer.

what will happen if you take HIV/AIDS treatment but you are not HIV positive

what will happen if you take HIV/AIDS treatment but you are not HIV positive?
my uncle told by his doctore that he is HIV positive. then he began taking the HIV treatments. after one year leater he took blood test again then the resoult was negative. he don't even know how it happen. so did you think the treatment could affect him?

I think he should sue his Dr. either way!
2 :
he must have had a false positive result...usually those are followed up by a more definitive test to rule out false positives before taking meds...
3 :
Sometimes tests for HIV (and other diseases) are false-positive. This means that they will say you have something, when in fact, you don't. In other words, these tests are not 100% accurate, and sometimes the results are incorrect. For this reason, it would be a waste of time to sue the doctor or the hospital (as one person suggested). There is no way a case like that would hold up in court. If you are worried about the effects the HIV treatments had on your uncle, think of it this way: the treatments are designed to make someone better. They were given to your uncle to cure his disease and make him healthier. So that shouldn't be harmful to him. Of course, no one knows as much about your uncle's health and the treatments he received as your doctor, so ask him/her for a more definite, more reliable answer. I wish him good health, and hope this answer was helpful.
4 :
He could also have such a low viral load that it will not show up on a test. If he is HIV- the only problem that MIGHT happen is if he became HIV+ the medications he is on might not work for him next time.

Is there a HIV/AIDS bloodwork assistance program in Seattle

Is there a HIV/AIDS bloodwork assistance program in Seattle?
I can't imagine that someone can get their bloodwork done for free in Dallas @ John Peter Smith Hospital, and yet- I can't seem to find anything even similar to that here. Ugh! HELP!

Your question is not very clear. However, if you are wondering where you can get HIV testing for free, check with your local health department or your local Planned Parenthood.

Why is HIV/AIDs most prevalent in third world countries

Why is HIV/AIDs most prevalent in third world countries?
Why is HIV/AIDs most prevalent in third world countries?
STDs - 6 Answers

1 :
Probably because of the lack of AIDS/HIV vaccination and the number of rape in the third world countries.
2 :
It's the lack of education and awareness in third world countries that makes HIV/AIDS more rampant there. Also, it's the lack of health care and availability of doctors. Without the right tools and education, it's difficult for any society to do anything. If they were educated in the importance of using condoms, or how HIV/AIDS are spread, or how being HIV/AIDS means that your children will be born with it too. All these are things that aren't always taught in third world countries. Also, HIV/AIDS medication is extremely overpriced and simply not a viable option for most people in third world countries.
3 :
The biggest reason is because women do not have rights in third world countries. They cannot refuse sex or they could be beaten or killed. Also men in 3rd world countries prize virgins and very young women, so there would be more blood involved. Rape is very common. Also, in some countries "dry sex" is preferred, which leads to bleeding. When women are able to have a voice in their future, the rates will start dropping.
4 :
All of the answers provided work as a good starting point. What is particularly unique about HIV/AIDS is unlike many other medical crises, AIDS disproportionately affects marginalized populations. As a result, HIV prevalence in sub-Saharan Africa, where roughly 60% of all infection occur, is heavily tied to issues of gender inequality, stigmatization, lack of medical infrastructure, lack of food security (as anti-retroviral medication is less effective if people are not eating properly), poverty and income distribution, drug patents, political instability/complacency, migrant worker issues and so forth. HIV prevalence is high in certain regions for various complex and interrelated reasons. A few good mainstream books that help paint a more holistic picture of the pandemic are: Stephanie Nolan's "28 Stories about AIDS in Africa" Elizabeth Pisani's "The Wisdom of Whores" or any of a number of AIDS compendiums one can find at any big book store. UNAIDS reports are also quite helpful to point to the underlying systemic issues associated to HIV/AIDS and they can be downloaded free of charge from UNAIDS.org

i think the main cause is due to the lack of contraception, health awareness etc in these countries. in some remote areas they simply donot have access to simple things such as contraception, health infor and certainly are not receiving advice/awareness enough about this disease. poor sanitory conditions donot help either. there is also a problem with drug users sharing needles, prob in dirty unclean conditions, and people just live in this unfortunate cycle as they donot know how or dont have the opportunity, to get themselves out of these conditions.
6 :
no sex education
