What percentage of the African population has HIV AIDS

What percentage of the African population has HIV AIDS?
I'm wondering just how many people in their country have the disease, a percentage of how many of their population is what I'm looking for.

100%
2 :
Depends in each country but if the whole continent is what we are talking, rough estimate would be around 15%.
3 :
I don't know the percentage but the website (link below) gives statistics. One of the major problems combating the spread of HIV infection in Africa is the attitude of the African male who considers it macho (even when infected with HIV, or suffering from AIDS) not to use a condom. Many Africans come to the UK specifically for NHS treatment for HIV and AIDS, they wouldn't otherwise get at home. AIDS originated in Africa and 'crossed over' from primate to human in supposedly infected bush meat.

What can you tell me about HIV/AIDS in Uganda

What can you tell me about HIV/AIDS in Uganda?
I'm doing a project on human population in biology. I need to know about how diseases affect population, which is simple. But I can't seem to find the exact statistics on HIV/AIDS in only Uganda. Help would be appreciated <3

You probably won't find accurate statistics anyway. The reports of AIDS/HIV cases in all African countries are hugely overblown.
2 :
Try the Uganda AIDS Commission Website? Not saying you should trust everything on the Internet, but they seem legit.

When is the best time to get tested for HIV/AIDS

When is the best time to get tested for HIV/AIDS?
I don't have any symptoms and I truly doubt I have anything. If you had unprotected sex, how long after it should you be tested for HIV/AIDS? I know that if you do it too soon after that they wouldn't be able to detect it.

1 :
They say a month or 6 months after exposure. A month is as soon as you can be tested and have respective results. Around a month is when the body starts to build viral antibodies. The antibodies are what the test detects and will give you a HIV+ reading. But in general, you should be tested for any STD at least once a year.
2 :
We tell people the window period for testing is 3 months. A person who has been infected will usually show up 90% of the time after 30 days of being infected, 94-96% after 60 days, 99.6% after 90 days and a few take a little longer.
3 :
i would say the fall is the best time! its cooler out and the leaves changing color is nice.
4 :
Three months sounds like the best test time. I hope don't have it.

Would you cut your own arm off to prevent HIV/AIDS infection

Would you cut your own arm off to prevent HIV/AIDS infection?
Imagine that you are a doctor performing a surgery on a HIV/AIDS infected patient. Unfortunately, you cut yourself with an infected instrument. You are sure to be infected, but if you immediately cut the infected region, you won`t have it. What would you do?

It doesn't work that way. If the infections in your blood system it'll literally get pumped all the way throughout your entire body within a couple heartbeats.
2 :
I don't think I would cut off the region. I would try to live my life as best I could.
3 :
sry but im not that stupid and the first guy is right. it wouldnt work.
4 :
Wow. Adam kinda fcuked up this whole question, didn't he?

How do people get Hepatitis B and C or HIV/AIDS from homemade tattoos

How do people get Hepatitis B and C or HIV/AIDS from homemade tattoos?
Just wondering. If the needle is clean and so if the environment can you still get it? Can you also get it from a regular store tattoo even if its clean and sterile?
Tattoos - 5 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
If the needles are re-used and not sterilized (in an autoclave), and you tattoo person 1 who has hepatitis C, then you move right on to person 2, using the same needle, who doesn't have hepatitis C.. person 2 now has Hepatitis because it is transferred through the blood. The chance of getting it from a tattoo studio that's clean and sterile is very little, as needles aren't supposed to be re-used, and they use an autoclave for all the un-used needles and equipment.
2 :
because they don't clean it enough yes you can
3 :
HIV- probably not. Not unless the artist has it and stabs himself with the needle as he is doing yours. Hep C- yes you can! If the ink is poured back into the bottles or the ink wells are not STERILZED if they are resuable. The shop I go to wraps everything in seran- uses disposable needles & ink wells and wraps the gun in plastic- but I still worry sometimes!
4 :
If the needles are NEW, as well as sterile, and the tips and tubes are sterile, with quality ink thats proffessional tattooing pigment, and he wears gloves, your chances are slim of getting anything. If NOT, don't do it. The Aids virus dies shortly after exposure to air, but Hep virus can live up to 36 hours after it has dried. Anybody who re-uses anything that isn't stainless steel and sterile is a BIG problem!
5 :
Scratchers usually don't have an environment as clean as a shop which promotes the spreading of any disease from there. Also, an autoclave is used on all equiptment and those are expensive so the odds of someone who doesn't have an income from it having this are slim to none. You can get it from the tool not being properly sterlized even if they are clean, from the person if they have it and don't wear gloves and have a cut or any other way that your blood comes in contact with someone elses. Now days the odds of getting any disease from a licensed clean shop is pretty much zero. A trully sterile shop wont be able to support the life of these cells that spread it. The shop I use smells like bleach when you walk in, everything is slicked down and ALL equiptment is put through the auutoclave to be properly cleaned not just outwardly cleaned and abosultely no needles are re-used. They have one of those red hazzard bins on the wall and put all of the needles, even from piercings, in there and have it disposed of by a certified company. Homemade tattoos have none of these necessary factors to prevent infection no matter how hard they try.

How would you treat a person infected by HIV/AIDS

How would you treat a person infected by HIV/AIDS?
How would you react if the person that is standing beside you is infected by HIV/AIDS? what would be going on in your head? how would you feel? what would you say?

HAHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!LOSER!!!
2 :
I would act normal...if you or someone you knew had the virus you would not want to be treated any differently..so treat them as you would want to be treated!
3 :
My brother is HIV positive. I treat him as I would any other human being.
4 :
Nothing...People with AIDS are the same as you. If they are taking meds, then you can only get AIDS from drinking their blood.
5 :
Treat them as normal person. You can be cautious in your mind.
6 :
Still shake their hand to be polite. Maybe even hug if they become a close friend. But never kiss or have sex with them. And if they got cut, I would avoid touching the blood (obviously) I would not act hostile to them in any way. They are people with feelings and deserve to be treated nicely.
7 :
I'd just think they made a mistake and is living with it for the rest of their life. People with that disease are still humans and need to be treated with respect. Seriously It's not like I'm going to be sexing them up.
8 :
I would treat them as a normal everyday person. A person who has an STD doesn't need to be treated as an "out cast". They need support and friends that they can count on. People make mistakes, it happens. People who are born with these diseases, should be treated equal as well. I try to befriend everyone as much as possible. I try not to put myself, though, in a situation where sexual intercourse will happen. If I was to date a person who has an STD (avoid having sex) and fall in love with them. After marriage, I then would make love to my partner. Though I am risking getting the STD, my partner waited around for me and I want what's best for them. I've watched a television show before that involved wife, husband, and 2 children. The husband had gotten HIV/AIDS in his teens and was up front with his partner before hand. They married and had 2 boys. The wife never got the disease nor did the oldest child. The youngest son, though, had gotten HIV/AIDS. True story as well. It is sad to think about when people get these diseases but they are still loved. Hope this is a helpful insite on what I for 1 think. Other people, sometimes, are bias of others with an STD. I try to support them, for the fact that premarital sex is every where and it's not going to stop any time soon.
9 :
I'd be like yo get away, you're going to die. I don't want your fungus.
10 :
How about, with respect?
11 :
I would treat them like a human being like they deserve and not get all buthurt over it because its not like I'm sharing a needle or fluids with them so why should I care other than worrying about being sensitive to their feelings?
12 :
HIV stands for human immunodeficiency virus. A person who contracts HIV will eventually develop AIDS. AIDS stands for acquired immunodeficiency syndrome. It is the final and fatal stage of the HIV infection.there are so many institutes treates HIV.

What are some ideas for college programing themes for HIV/ AIDS Awareness and fundraising

What are some ideas for college programing themes for HIV/ AIDS Awareness and fundraising?
I am looking for ideas that are interactive. Like a 12 hour dance-a-thon, a walk for a cause, free on-campus testing, or etc. I am trying to do something creative that gets my entire campus involved. Thanks.

howabout an orgy where you provide condoms?
2 :
There is a new site that will launch on 8/1/2009. The idea behind this fundraiser is that your organization creates a website/portal that you ask your network of friends to use. There is no cost to the user, but as they spend time viewing, shopping, downloading music or emailing on the site your organization earns money from advertising revenue collected by www.fundraiser.ijango.biz Another way to raise money is to recruit people to join ijango.biz. They will then work for your organization to promote their site. Your organization gets commission when they get people to join ijango and get a % of the revenue generated as their friends use their website/portal. This is a multilevel marketing system for the internet. The beauty is that your friends continue to use the sites they currently visit on the internet they just go through your site first. Check out the site www.fundraiser.ijango.biz You can also email me at esltrevino@comcast.net
3 :
you could have a concert and the students with the highest sponsorship dollars get to meet the band...or get a prize. talk to local businesses and see who would be willing to donate prize items. put together a prize package. you also could put toether information packets on HIV/AIDS and hand them out to everyone who shows up. talk to local clinics for printed materials. ** it might be possible to have a "doggie day run for HIV/AIDS" too... like somehow couple up with an Animal clinic or Humane Society to do some fundraising. www.fundraisingsuperheroes.com/

if my lover drops vaginal fluid on the floor and i lick it up do i get HIV/AIDs

if my lover drops vaginal fluid on the floor and i lick it up do i get HIV/AIDs?
I understand that HIV/AIDs doesn't live long outside of the body but what if it is fresh?

1 :
if she has it it's possible
2 :
You will get aids. And die.
3 :
it is possible, if you ingest infected fluids all its needed is a microscopic tear in the tissue of the lips, tongue, gums. esophagus, or such. yet there is debate on how long the virus survives outside of the host. but definitely possible. best advise always practice protected sex with someone who is HIV + and dont lick the floor there is other nasty bugs you could get from licking the floor alone.
4 :
If it is still warm, and thick in texture, there could be a problem. However, if you wait for it to dropped below body temperature the disease should die naturally. The best thing to do is to wait for it to dry and crust over completely. Regina George loves you.
5 :
If you got to it really fast and have a leision in your mouth then yes you could catch HIV.
6 :
your fucking gross u make me sick and another thing find a new word besides lover bc u sound like a douche
7 :
why would you WANT to do that??
8 :
no but you would be labled for the rest of your life as a person with serious issues and your girlfriend could call a mental health team to come and take you away.
9 :
YES...Very Likely IF she's got HIV
