I am certified with AIDS. Usually people when they first get aids. They usually get a symptoms at first like a flu or cold. After the virus has been in the system for two weeks. Right after that it goes away which is why allot people do not get checked. Then they start waking up at night sweating. They start getting sick allot. Allot of them get Kaposi's Sarcoma it is cancer rash. It common with people with aids. It common for them to get cancer. Aids is a immune disorder. You rarely ever hear someone say ''he died of aids.''. Most the time people with aids get cancer. If you are not familiar with what cancer is. It is a bad cell. Allot times are immune system recognize that bad cell destroys it. What happens when people have Aids is their bodies defense is so poor becuase the cd4 cells are infected that it can not fight that over active cell. So they get cancer. Or a simple cold could kill them. It deadly to them. You can get AIDs through syringes, breast milk, blood semen, vagina discharge. You can not get aids through sweat, nor tears. HIV means you have the virus in you. Once it starts infecting cells then it is full blown aids. The reason you can not cure aids. It because it always infecting cd4 cells.(lymcyotes) As fast as your body produces them is as fast as it infects them. as HIV infect the body it uses CD4..(lymcyotes) to make copy's of itself. Each day the body makes billions of CD4 cells. The virus infects them. After infected the number of Cd4 cells go down. CD4 cells fight infection. Eventually they become infected. HIV usually wins but they can make medications to slow down the process. It always mutating! As far as life expectancy goes AIDs effects everyone different. Some people live 20 years with AIDs. While others live ten years with AIDs. Hope I could help! I am not a doctor. I can not diagnosis you just give you the best medical advice based on my scope of practice.

Most of the time there are no symptoms. Some people experience mild flu like symptoms in the early stages of contracting HIV but like I said most people do not experience any symptoms for months even years. You need to be tested 30 days after exposure to HIV and then 6 months after exposure. Some people take longer to build up the antibodies that are detected in a HIV test so you must test atleast 1 month, and then 6 months after exposure. If you test too soon you will not get an accurate result. There are oral tests (where they swab your cheek) or blood tests (where they draw blood from your vein) which both of these tests are accurate at detecting HIV antibodies.

ARS Symptoms are first to appear. These are very broad symptoms that a person has whenever infected by a retro virus. These are just very common things fever etc. This happens around 1 month to 1 month and 2 weeks. After that it lies dormant and symptoms can hide for 10 years.

Do you think our disease specialist will evr find a cure for HIV/AIDS

Do you think our disease specialist will evr find a cure for HIV/AIDS?
I keep hearing various stories that the National Government is trying to close the issue or that the virus keeps changing itself. What is your speculation on this?

I think they probably have found the cure for HIV/AIDS and probably cancer. But the pharmacuetical companies and their lobbists will never allow the public to know. Money is always the bottom line.
2 :
i agree with field they prob have it already but u know how the goverment is............ohh shit better not say that......
3 :
No. They haven't found the cure for the common cold yet, and both are viruses. It's very difficult to find a cure for something you can't see, and the last I heard there was still no instrument that would allow them to see the HIV virus itself.

The first 2 answers are not considering the *tremendous* profit that will go to the company who discovers a cure or vaccine for this disease. That company would likely be *instantly* the most desirable investment of any pharmaceutical company, and the profits generated by the *worldwide* purchase of this cure or vaccine would be *enormous*. Rest assured, these companies would like *nothing* better than to develop (and own the rights of) the cure for the world's most prevalent deadly disease. That being said, Bush annually *increases* the budgeted amount for AIDS relief. He is by *no means* trying to "close the issue" and, in fact, the issue *cannot* be closed until the problem is eradicated or, at *least*, removed through general inoculation. In other words, the problem is going to *continue* getting worse until someone finds a way to make it get better. Also pertinent is HAART, the therapy currently used to treat HIV victims. This treatment *greatly* extends the time that it takes for victims to develop AIDS (and, therefore, extends their life by the same amount), but in *no way* reduces the contagious nature of HIV. Thus, our scientist's efforts so far have actually *exacerbated* the situation by permitting an infected individual more time to infect others (literally *years*) without showing outward symptoms during that "extra time". Although it would clearly be wrong to *withhold* life-extending medication from HIV victims, it *has* resulted in a rise in new infection rates. The virus *does* appear to be very "adaptive", but the changes, if I understand correctly, are *not* on the same order as flu and cold viruses (which mutate regularly). In other words, there really are only 2 types of HIV virus worldwide, and an *effective* cure or vaccine against a strain *would* work effectively. The problem is developing an effective cure of vaccine which the virus is not able to "work around". So far (again, if I understand correctly), it is not that HIV is mutating into additional strains that is causing the problem, but rather that it simply acts (and reacts) in a manner that has "beaten" the efforts of scientists to find a mechanism to halt it. To use an analogy, HIV has a number of "holes" which it can use to attack, and scientists have not figured out how to plug them all yet. When they plug one, they see that HIV is using another. some say this is God disease on man for the wrong thy do.
6 :
The best cure is to teach our children, that not everyone is doing what is portrayed on tv, teenagers feel pressure all around them, it in movies, television, and they think that is is okay, if they were in church and learned moral values of a family and not of what tv teaches them, but rather God, aids wouldn't be as much of a problem as it is today, we let the media babysit our children, because it is easy, we need to talk when they don't want to, we need to turn the tv set off, we need to be responsible.
7 :
The virus does mutate with in the body so it's constantly changing. This is one of the problems in finding a vaccine or a cure. Look how long it has been with cancer, and this disease is just as complex.
8 :
Medically- speaking, AIDs is incurable, but I have good news....just over the weekend, we had a pastor over at our church seminar who testified that 11 ex-drug addicts in his church's drug rehabilitation centers have been healed of AIDs by the Lord Jesus Christ! This was confirmed by medical reports where doctors could not trace any HIV viruses in their bodies - previously, they were all dying of AIDs when they were admitted to the rehab centers.! Jesus still saves! Jesus still heals! By His stripes we are healed!

I would start with Dr's offices that treat the patients. My mother past of Breast Cancer and was going to start something at the hospital for a support to those who battled and battleing. Maybe you should do that, what a fantastic person you are for even thinking of that. I would start at the hospital. Good for you, people like you make this world that much better!

You're walking a dangerous line with this idea. God Bless you for being so thoughtful, but you need to think of YOURSELF first. There are a lot of people out there who would use your help, but there are some whack-jobs out there who would LOVE to get your name and number. Additionally, any medical information you give could put you at risk for lawsuit. To play it safe...and still reach those you want to help, check out this site: http://www.aidsservices.org/ Volunteering with an established group will help you reach out without putting yourself AND your career in danger. Best of luck!!

THere ar usually forums for people going through that if you go to a doctor's office they won't tell you because of confidentiality so a forum is your best bet.
