What percentage of the gay community is infected with HIV/AIDS?
I read a CDC "HIV/AIDS" fact sheet from Aug 2009 which said 25% That seems kinda high.

Thanks for your question. In the UK and USA especially, the percentage of young gay men who have been infected with HIV and the percentage with AIDS are much higher. Among those aged between 18 and 22, the infection rate was 30 percent.

How can a woman/ woman date safely without contracting STDS including HIV?AIDS

How can a woman/ woman date safely without contracting STDS including HIV?AIDS?
Ok they say practice safe sex. Some people know they are infected with Hiv/Aids and deliberately and maliciously are set to go out and infect others . Many innocent people are suffering. How can you protect yourself? Who do you trust? Suppose as a young woman you want to have a baby?

FREAK!!!
2 :
You trust your spouse whom you married as a virgin.
3 :
honestly.. if u're with someone.. n you both wanna have sex.... you should get tested. even if u're a virgin. just b/c mom/dad are still togehter.. doesn't mean they're totally clean. some STD's can be passed through birth. if u're serious about haivng sex with the person...you should ask them to get tested. if they get offended... jsut sit em down n say look, we live in a f'ed up world.. n b/c you care about em, you'd rather them be safe. you want them to know you're 100% clean... and if you aren't you need to be honest about it. if they like you/you like them... u'll do it. if not, maybe you should move on to someone who is more understanding. you need to feel comfortable, and safe with the ppl you have sex with.
4 :
If you are that untrusting then just take your significant other to have him tested before you sleep with him. If you are practicing safe sex and have been tested, then you have drastically reduced the chance of catching anything. If you are sleeping around then that is a different story. You can't be a safe sex whore or have sex with other people who sleep around. So, trust your mate. And if you are wanting a baby then I assume you have been with the same person for a long amount of time. By now you know this person isn't sleeping around, he has been tested, and you both are disease free. The world isn't as horrible as it seems. As long as you watch out for yourself you will be fine. When you finally meet the right guy and he likes you enough, he will be willing to go through whatever you want to make sure you are safe. And not to be rude to those innocent people you talk about, but those are usually people who have been sleeping around, who aren't taking precautionary measures like tests, aren't using condoms, and don't know their mate enough to know whether they have a disease. They in no way deserve a disease, but had they been more careful it probably wouldn't have happened. That only goes to people in developed countries, not places like Africa where it is harder to find the resources for all of that. I get tested once a year for all STDs. I do not sleep around. I have been with my boyfriend for a long time. But I am also paranoid :)

once exposed to air, the virus dies in about 3 seconds. But, i wouldn't recommend necrophelia......
2 :
Well, when a person dies so does their cells. HIV/AIDS can't live without a cell host so I think it's a couple of hours.

Is it possible to get hiv/aids or any other disease if someone has stung you with a thorn

Is it possible to get hiv/aids or any other disease if someone has stung you with a thorn?
So I was on the school yard when my classmate stung me with a tree thorn. What if he stung someone with aids/hiv or any other disease before me? What are the chances of me getting infected? Should I go to the doctor? Thanks. Well there are mainly 12 - 14 year olds, and I'm not sure if he has stung anyone else before me. What are the chances of him stinging someone with any diseases before me and me getting infected?

Well, if aids and hiv is prevalent in your school, i would say the risk is high. since you sound young, im sure not many of your classmates engage in risky behaviours that can lead to this infection, unless somebody was born with it, im sure you will be okay. By all means, go to the doctor if you have any doubts, they should give you a blood test.
2 :
A doctor can't do anything. If you start showing up something, like fever, pimples or vaginal warts, a smelly discharge, anything unusual then see the doctor and tell him about it and see what he says. Otherwise this person did a bad thing, you could have gotten any kind of infection fromm this, it could be serious.
3 :
i don't think you should worry too much about it. but if you are really worried then go

Can dating a black man in America mean increased risk of HIV AIDS

Can dating a black man in America mean increased risk of HIV AIDS?
The statistics on HIV and AIDS in America clearly show that ethnic minorities account for a disproportionate number of cases in most states. African Americans are particularly severely affected by the virus, and relatively high rates of HIV can be found in virtually every sector of the black community. The latest Centers for Disease Control report on the US epidemic shows that in 2007, the vast majority of people diagnosed with AIDS were black men.

if you love him you wouldnt care
2 :
no
3 :
hhahahahhahahahahahhahaha once u leave or enter africa u get around 8 shots to prevent diseases
4 :
Yes, get him tested first, but why black? are you black?
5 :
i say, if u are scared of dating black men, dont. also, i feel u should research further!
6 :
I think race mixing is disgusting.
7 :
If you love him, then be careful. you'll figure it out
8 :
Sounds like you answered your own question? Or just posted it as a question to make some point....
9 :
It all depends on the person.
10 :
Well if the guy you're dating has AIDS, then yes. But if he doesn't have AIDS, he can't spread around something he doesn't have.
11 :
anybody has to ability to contract and carry AIDS. regardless of race you need to use protection and you both need to have a screening done
12 :
Sleeping around and having unprotected sex CAN INCREASE YOUR RISK OF AIDS!!!
13 :
EXCUSE ME???? What does being a black person have to do with being a higher risk of HIV? That is racist That is terrible of you to even post this question If I were black I would be very highly offended
14 :
Well I think that was 2007 but now its the year of 2009. Who knows what CDC tells. Sometimes they talk lies and sometimes they don't. They only say that because of Africa. There's one example xD
15 :
hey guess what everyone can get it i bet you have it, so quit ranting oh and by the way you dont get it by "DATING" a person its an STD you cant even word your nonsense correctly.
16 :
I suppose so but,you have a higher risk if you were gay. You're not trying to hate on anybody ...............are you?
17 :
Just because a country is known for that doesn't mean every african- american has it. Wise up. Its not like everybody else in the world doesn't have a portion in there population having HIV and AIDS. If your that worried about it, and this should go to anybody no matter who they are, take a test before you do the deed.
18 :
you're right hiv/aids is very high in gay and bisexual black men in the age range of 13-29. its 1.6% higher than white males an 2.3% higher in hispanic males. most white males become infected at an higher age 30-39 years of age.never under estimate your chances of personal risk with any body or any race!

Can you catch Hiv aids giving oral sex to a hiv positive person

Can you catch Hiv aids giving oral sex to a hiv positive person?
Can you catch hiv aids by giving oral sex to a hiv positive person iIF the person didn't ejaculate...?

1 :
yes HIV is very aggressive you mostly likely will have it.
2 :
Yes. It's called moutmallitsaids it's a terrible disease.
3 :
yes its still possible
4 :
Yes. You expose yourself to the virus when you go in orally, anal, or straight sex.
5 :
There is a very high possibility, becuase certain fluids can come from the genatils, without ejaculation Including premature ejaculate fluids, which are known to carry diseases, and sometimes low sperm count, just like ejaculatory fluid does. My reccomendation would be to get tested there is a test i believe most pharmacies sell that is a gum swab, to check for hiv/aids, i would look into it if i were you
6 :
yes. but why would you ask that? do you have it?
7 :
Yes, it is possible to contract HIV when preforming oral sex on an HIV positive person. If pre-ejaculation fluids are present and come in contact with an open sore or lesion in the mouth of the other person, then bodily fluids are exchanged, which could cause the giver of oral sex to become infected with the disease.
8 :
HIV, the virus that can lead to AIDS, can be transmitted through unprotected oral sex. However, risk of transmission of HIV through oral sex is very low.
9 :
yea u r most likely to get HIV if u have an unprotected sex with the person who is HIV positive.
