Do you think if people can catch HIV/AIDS by their saliva

Do you think if people can catch HIV/AIDS by their saliva?
I am doing a report to see if people can catch AIDS from saliva. If you know something I would truly appreciated. I am just a little curious about it because, I know they say you can't get HIV/AIDS from kissing; I was just wondering if they met a peck on the mouth, or if you can get from touge kissing or sharing drinks...stuff like that? Anything that has to do with saliva.

hiv/aids is a blood disease. the only way to contract it is through intercourse or if the blood of a person who has hiv/aids gets inside an open cut or wound... so no. you can't contract it through kissing.
2 :
i'm not sure about HIV/AIDS, im pretty sure that it is usually blood that creates an opening for HIV/AIDS, i know that you can easily get Maninga cocal swaping saliva, sorry can't be more help, and i don't know how to spell the other desease sorry
3 :
No, you can't. The only way you can catch HIV/AIDs is through the blood, semen, pre-ejaculation, vaginal fluid or breast milk.
4 :
I Hope not because i Have Done everything eles but SEX I Have kiss a 100 times lol but i hope u cant
5 :
Anything that can be tested for DNA can be contracted from another person who has AIDS. Bodily fluids contain the virus so be careful. Only if you have an open sore exposed to the person touching you with an open sore too.
6 :
good
7 :
i don't think so
8 :
you can only contract HIV/AIDS through blood, seminal or vaginal fluid, lymphatic fluid, or breast milk; not saliva.
9 :
yes it can, if the aids doesn't die when it hit oxygen, but it has to be put into like an open wound, straight to the blood, other than that, you cannot get it from kissing :]
10 :
no
11 :
Nope you definitely cannot catch HIV from saliva. Actually saliva inhibits HIV.
12 :
Honest truth, no one knows. The only way to prove it is so unethical that scientists refuse to do so, mostly to stay out of jail, not out of respect for ethics.
13 :
HIV is not transmitted by saliva. Kissing someone (on the mouth) who is infected is not a risk unless you both have bleeding gums or open cuts in your mouths. Even in that case, risk is very low.
14 :
This is a two part answer actually. First off you can not catch AIDS. You can only become infected with HIV which can eventually emerge into AIDS. Second of all the correct answer to your second question is Yes you can contract HIV through saliva HOWEVER, you would have to drink about 2 quarts of that persons saliva in order to become infected. Anytime there is blood involved (new piercing, open sores in and around the mouth, cuts on the gums or tongue) then transmission becomes possible.

Why is it that homo sexual men contract HIV AIDs so commonly and not so much straight women

Why is it that homo sexual men contract HIV AIDs so commonly and not so much straight women?
I am just curious. No offense to homo sexuals or anything. I have some homo sexual friends. It's just something I wonder about, you know? If you answer, I will surely appreciate it. Thank you so much. I do not understand it. Women have anal sex too. Why do homo sexual men have higher HIV AID ratings than women?

Actually, this is well-documented. For the HIV virus to take hold, it needs to get into the bloodstream. It is easier for this to happen through anal penetration, as the vagina is specifically designed for sexual intercourse and does not rupture or become raw as easy. A woman CAN get HIV from vaginal sex, but it is more difficult than a man or woman being penetrated anally.
2 :
It is because of the fact that anal peneteration causes some cuts and ruptures the anal canal. And blood stream can come to contact of infected secretions and virus can be transmitted. Also even if they use condom, there is a chance that condom is broken unless they use lots of water-based lubs. About the woman, the difference is that HIV rate is much more lower in straight people than homosexual people and that is why anal sex causes less HIV infection in straight people. I hope it is clear
3 :
I will agree there is an increase in the rate of infection in gay men, but women are still a higher risk. Anal sex and vaginal sex are equally high for infection. The reason is both body parts are "vaults" that is after penetration they can close up, HIV can live up to 5 days in both cavities. So both are equally as high risks.
4 :
They have lots of Anal Sex...the walls of the anus tear easily thus the blood stream is exposed. Stay safe and use a condom !
5 :
Right now, homosexual men are at greater risk because more homosexual men have it. It is purely a numbers thing. In some areas, it's the injection drug users who are most at risk, because of the high rate of HIV in that community. If HIV had originally been spread by heterosexuals, it wouldn't have been considered a homosexual disease. In Africa it's an equal opportunity infector.

How many people in the United States have HIV/AIDS

How many people in the United States have HIV/AIDS?
I was just curious because a lot of people stress out over getting aids in America, and I just wanted to get a more realistic perspective on this whole thing so I don't have to stress as much.

HIV Prevalence Estimate...Prevalence is the number of people living with HIV infection at the end of a given year. At the end of 2006, an estimated 1,106,400 persons (95% confidence interval 1,056,400-1,156,400) in the United States were living with HIV infection, with 21% undiagnosed. At the end of 2007, the CDC estimates that 468,578 people were living with AIDS in America, around 20,000 more than 2006.

Does water (i.e a Jacuzzi) have to be a certain temperature for HIV/AIDS Virus to die

Does water (i.e a Jacuzzi) have to be a certain temperature for HIV/AIDS Virus to die?
Lets say an individual who was infected with HIV/AIDS ejaculated into a Jacuzzi, Does the jacuzzi have to be a certain temperature for the virus to die or dilute to the point where its not infectious? I saw two gays in a jacuzzi in gym engaging in sexual contact. So im just curious.

HIV is a fragile virus. It will be killed on exposure to air for a few minutes. It is no match therefore for the warm water in the jacuzzi. I have researched on the virus for a long time, and know that its loses its viability even when kept refrigerated in a suitable medium. We try and store it at -30 or -80 deg C to preserve its life. Don't worry about getting transmitted through the jacuzzi water, have fun in it!

Do HIV / AIDS patients have definite mental health problems

Do HIV / AIDS patients have definite mental health problems?
Heard of a case where a HIV / AIDS patients (husband and wife) are having hatred towards the family. Claiming property, spreading hatred and trying to disgrace family members. I want to know if the illness has an affect on their brains.

yeah people with HIV/AIDS have a hard time dealing with the fact that they have a deadly disease.. its a terrible thing and i feel absolutely sorry for them.. they cannot help but to be mad at the world.. if u got cancer or HIV/AIDS .. how the hell are u supposed to feel happy when u may end up dying.. its a terrible thing and i feel so sorry for them. I dont think they should exploit their family and treat ppl like shyt, but u gotta handed to them, u know ull go crazy too if u found out u had HIV/AIDS! honestly, if i had it.. ill kill myself .. i would jump into the ocean at the beach and purposely drown.. im sorry.. thats just me though! May God be with those who are suffering.. just pray!
2 :
Sure. They're dealing with the fact that they are facing premature death. If their family is trying to get "more than their share" of inheritances or jumping the gun to try to control their property NOW, that makes it worse. If it advances to AIDS, dementia is common, but not long before death.
3 :
The definite anwser, with out a doubt is NO! We do not have definite mental health problems. I have been HIV+ for 23 years. I look perfectly healthy, I work, I'm raising a family, I feel great, I'm not "crazy" or demented. And I'm not alone, I know many people that are long term survivors and are sane. AIDS related dementia is a thing of the past. If they are on HIV meds, any at all they are not demented from the HIV. Nearly all the new (past 15years) meds cross the blood-brain barrier, protecting the brain. It sounds to me like they may have had problems before their diagnosis. As hard as it can be to live with, its no reason to drown yourself. Life is beautiful.

Most common STD have mild side effects and usually will show up within 8-14 days after exposure. That's most...just need to get checked for reassurance.
2 :
some stds dont even show symptoms for up to 10 years .... so kick back and enjoy the ride
3 :
You can get something from any type of sex. If you are worried about catching something then abstinence is the best way to go. When in a relationship, wait a while before getting intimate and make sure to wrap up his willy.

Your pee pee will turn blue.
