I want a 3D model of the HIV (AIDS) virus

I want a 3D model of the HIV (AIDS) virus?
I don't want to buy an expensive software in order to visualize it. Ideally it would be in protein database format (pdb) although I am not sure that my computer with Chem3D 7.0 can handle that much atoms.

Search the net for "The Big Picture Book of Viruses" (seriously) The aa sequences for most of the proteins are well known, eg gp120 and I used to know some bits of them by heart. Haven't used them in a long time so have now forgot.

If two people are UNINFECTED with the HIV/AIDS virus, then is it possible to contract the virus

If two people are UNINFECTED with the HIV/AIDS virus, then is it possible to contract the virus?
By contract the virus I mean sexually.

1 :
If two people start our FULLY certified as being free of the virus AND those two people NEVER exchange bodily fluids with someone who IS infected or receive blood products that are infected...then No, it is not possible to contract the virus.
2 :
no dude, because if that happened that would mean you two somehow created the virus. It is 100% impossible
3 :
No its not possible, unless they come in contact (sexually) with someone who has the Virus.
4 :
The answer is no. You can only contract HIV by having sex with an infected partner.
5 :
If they have both been tested with negative results and are exclusive to each other, the answer is No. They can't contact the virus from each other if neither of them have it to begin with.
6 :
NO! it cant just appear out of no where! Now, if someone cheats..........
7 :
you only get HIV from someone that has it! if both of u dont have it then whats your worry?? your only at risk ifeither of you cheat on each other with an HIV possitive person

Can HIV/AIDS be created between two men

Can HIV/AIDS be created between two men?
I heard that HIV/AIDS can be created from a gay (never had sex before) couple from anal sex. The inside of the "butt"(i don't know the parts) starts to bleed after many intercourses, causing HIV. Is this true??
Men's Health - 1 Answers

NO! gay people are not the source of aids/HIV. It can be contracted between straight people as well. You cannot be having sex with to guys who both don't have the virus and somehow contract the virus. it is completely impossible.

There used to be a video with Arsenio Hall and Majic Johnson that was available for free at video stores. I have never personally seen the video so I don't know what is on it. There are many out there, you can try contacting your local health dept, or hospital to see if you could view one from their library. Not sure theres would have celebrities in it tho. There is some foundation founded by Elizabeth Taylor that may have more information about celebs with AIDS/HIV
2 :
Just go down to your local Crack House, and get the real sights, in person. You may see celebrities there, or not. It all depends if they're recognizable or look like hell.

really really expensive antibiotics

The main method used today to reduce the death toll associated with HIV/AIDS is called HAART, or Highly Active Antiretroviral Therapy. This involves combinations of medications that in various ways combat the human immunodeficiency virus in ways such as preventing if from replicating, attaching to blood cells, etc.

does health insurance cover the cost of medications for HIV/AIDS

does health insurance cover the cost of medications for HIV/AIDS?
does health insurance cover the cost of hiv/aids medications? do all? some do? if they do how much do they cover? does it depend on any situations? thanks
STDs - 4 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
check with your insurance provider everyone is different
2 :
Dont think so buddy sorry....Usually when you take out health insurance you have to get a HIV test.. been there done that
3 :
It will depend on what type of insurance the person has. The best way to obtain this information is to contact the insurance carrier directly. Many insurance companies do cover the cost of medications for HIV/AIDS now. It may also depend on whether it was a pre-existing condition that was present when the policy was obtained. There should be a number on the back of the identification card if they are already covered and you can call to ask any questions you may have. If the person is not currently covered by an insurance plan then it may be hard to get coverage if they already have the disease.
4 :
If you have a health insurance and that you get tested for HIV and the result comes back negative, but later on you get it, I believe that you are coverd. But if the result is positive and you want a health insurance, they are not going to cover it. my health insurance policy is that they cover everything i have that is not genetic and that i did not have 48 hours after my birthday.

Can a person get infected with HIV/AIDs from

Can a person get infected with HIV/AIDs from..?
Can a person get infected with HIV/AIDs from JUST making-out with a person?
STDs - 6 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
Nope, impossible, it must be when your "doing it" or when you and the person who has AIDS have a blood to blood contact.
2 :
It's theoretically possible, but very unlikely. You have to be unlucky enough to get some of their blood into an open wound in your mouth. But oral sores aren't terribly uncommon, and many people have gums that bleed, so again it is technically possible, although extremely unlikely.
3 :
it's extremely unlikely. you'd have to swallow liters of the other person's saliva to have a chance of contracting it. unless the infected person has sores or some time of open wound in their mouth. in that case, infection is a little more at risk.
4 :
Sores in a person with HIV are not the issue my dear, ITS THE SORE IN YOUR MOUTH THAT WILL ALLOW the virus in yr patners saliva or blood transmit the infection. if your whole skin is intact, you are safe.
5 :
YES YOU CAN if the person has an open wound ... ,like lets say they bit their check while chewing up some food. of while brushing their teeth their gums bleed and still have some blood in their mouth. But you yourself must have an open wound in your mouth or that while you were brushing your teeth your gums bleed . this means that their is an open spot that get into the blood stream. from saliva never going to happen you can not get the virus from just a normal kiss , hug, a toilet seat, a drinking fountain a drinking cup. deep kissing like french kissing had a better chance. blood transfer the most possible way. the health clinic can test you in a few minutes they will just give you a check swab and run a test real fast like5-15 min and you know id you have the possible virus. but if you think you are then find out fast . you have a 2 hour window that they can start the meds that will kill the virus so you don't get sick from HIV. i know i promise i used to work in a prison all the new employees were told that we have two hours to get medical attention if we get stuck by a needle to start the meds so it can kill the virus. the changes so fast and from at a rate so fast that it can't be stopped from growing after this point and the meds you take after you have it will only keep it from multiplying but it still kills your white blood cells this is why a person can no longer fight off any sicknesses
6 :
No. This will never happen. NO RISK.

would you have sex with a person if you knew that him/her was infected with the HIV/ Aids virus

would you have sex with a person if you knew that him/her was infected with the HIV/ Aids virus?
Just curious as to peoples opinions. I don't believe that I could. I guess it would have to depend on the circumstances. Hypothetical situation 1: My husband contracts HIV through a blood transfusion. I would still be intimate with him. Hypothetical situation 2: One night stand . No way

It would be totally dependant on what sex and if that person was my former lover.
2 :
Hypothetical situation 3: Been dating for a while and it's time to take the next step, but they tell you they have aids beforehand. Definately not. Dealbreaker. Maybe it's kind of cruel, but we're not married, so I would not want to continue that relationship. I agree that if it was my husband who contracted it innocently (no cheating) then I would still be intimate with him, protected, of course. One night stand, don't have those anyway :)
3 :
answer is no to all situations
4 :
If my gf had HIV, I would still be intimate with her, but if I were to have sex with her i would use a condom. I would never have a one night stand, i respect women way too much
5 :
I would have to say no to all situations.

Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) is a retrovirus that causes acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS), a condition in humans in which the immune system begins to fail, leading to life-threatening opportunistic infections. Previous names for the virus include human T-lymphotropic virus-III (HTLV-III), lymphadenopathy-associated virus (LAV), and AIDS-associated retrovirus (ARV).[1][2] Infection with HIV occurs by the transfer of blood, semen, vaginal fluid, pre-ejaculate, or breast milk. Within these body fluids, HIV is present as both free virus particles and virus within infected immune cells. The three major routes of transmission are unprotected sexual intercourse, contaminated needles, and transmission from an infected mother to her baby at birth, or through breast milk. Screening of blood products for HIV in the developed world has largely eliminated transmission through blood transfusions or infected blood products in these countries. HIV infection in humans is now pandemic. As of January 2006, the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) and the World Health Organization (WHO) estimate that AIDS has killed more than 25 million people since it was first recognized on December 1, 1981, making it one of the most destructive pandemics in recorded history. In 2005 alone, AIDS claimed an estimated 2.4Ă¢€“3.3 million lives, of which more than 570,000 were children. It is estimated that about 0.6% of the world's living population is infected with HIV.[3] A third of these deaths are occurring in sub-Saharan Africa, retarding economic growth and increasing poverty.[4] According to current estimates, HIV is set to infect 90 million people in Africa, resulting in a minimum estimate of 18 million orphans.[5] Antiretroviral treatment reduces both the mortality and the morbidity of HIV infection, but routine access to antiretroviral medication is not available in all countries.[6] more below

How long is someone with HIV aids expected to live after diagnoses

How long is someone with HIV aids expected to live after diagnoses?

STDs - 7 Answers

1 :
HIV: the same as anyone who doesn't have it. AIDS: you have to have HIV first, before you can contract AIDS. Depends on how they respond to treatment. But that's like the terminal section of cancer in HIV.
2 :
There are many factors that determine the life span of someone who is diagnosed with HIV/AIDS. Everything from treatment options to genetics, both an individuals and a viruses genetics. It is more likely, though, that someone who is properly diagnosed today with HIV only may never develop full blown AIDS, such as is the case with Magic Johnson. He lives with HIV, but has never contracted AIDS. Of course, the best way to treat HIV/AIDS is not to contract the virus in the first place. Have sexual intercourse with one partner ONLY and make sure that that partner is HIV Negative as well. If you're going to shoot up drugs (GOD forbid!) then don't share needles with anyone else. You're much better off preventing HIV infection than trying to treat it.
3 :
it depends on if the HIV is active and depends on how resilient the person's emmune system is.
4 :
If they are in treatment and see a doctor regularly, most of them can expect to live close to a normal life span. I know many HIV patients. Some have died, but some have had the diagnosis for over 20 years and are hanging in there. A lot of it can depend on the virus, but you have control over your lifestyle and your compliance with medical care.
5 :
years ago they would tell you no more then 5 years. I am proof i have been hiv+ for over 6 years. tell your friend to go to www.doeshivlooklikeme.org here there are stories of many young people myself included who share there personel stories.
6 :
okay well u can accually live a normal life with hiv if u cure it fast but if u know but dont cure it u could accually get it into aids and its harder to get it from a female and easyier to get it from a male

risk of getting hiv/aids by sharing a toilet with someone who has it

risk of getting hiv/aids by sharing a toilet with someone who has it?
i had a mosquito bite on my bum and i itched it so it turned into a scab and was red, but it wasnt bleeding. I shared a toilet with someone who has aids. There was no blood or urine or anything on the toilet seat. Whats the risk of catching it? what if it did have urine on it? Just curious?
Infectious Diseases - 7 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
There is no risk of catching it that way.
2 :
Very very unlikely. As you say... there would need to be blood, semen, etc on the toilet seat for there to be any risk, and even then, it would have had to be there a very short amount of time, as the virus can't survive long on such a surface.
3 :
no there isnt any risk unless the seat had any of the things you listed so you should be fine
4 :
It is HIGHLY unlikely that you could have caught aids. I mean, if you have ever sat on a public toilet, anyone who sat on it before you could have had aids too
5 :
There is no risk of catching HIV from a toilet seat.
6 :
nope not at all unless you have sex with this person on the toilet
7 :
Getting AIDS/HIV from a toilet seat is almost 0%. Even if there is urine or BM on the seat-unless there is visible blood in them. Once HIV hits the air, it dies rather quickly. In addition, a significant amount of blood would have to be present in order to penetrate your scabbed area. Don't worry and relax! If you are concerned, it certainly would not hurt to get a routine HIV test in a few months.

1 :
there is no symptom. you need to see a doctor or health agency for a test.
2 :
WARNING: Do not use Yahoo! Answers as a medical diagnosis tool. Always consult your doctor. Within 7-10 days of intially being infected with HIV, most individuals (80 to 90 %) develop an acute syndrome characterised by flu-like symptoms of fever, malaise, lymphadenopathy, pharyngitis, headache, myalgia, and sometimes a rash (Kahn and Walker, 1998). Within an average of three weeks after transmission of HIV-1, a broad HIV-1 specific immune response occurs that includes seroconversion. Because of the nonspecific nature of these illnesses, it is often not recognized as a sign of HIV infection. Even if patients go to their doctors or a hospital, they will often be misdiagnosed as having one of the more common infectious diseases with the same symptoms. Since not all patients develop it, and since the same symptoms can be caused by many other common diseases, it cannot be used as an indicator of HIV infection. However, recognizing the syndrome is important because the patient is much more infectious during this period. HIV is transmitted various ways: Sexual route. The majority of HIV infections are acquired through unprotected sexual relations. Sexual transmission occurs when there is contact between sexual secretions of one partner with the rectal, genital or mouth mucous membranes of another. The probability of transmission per act is between 1 in 53 to 1 in 10,000 for the case of receptive vaginal sex (Pilcher et al., 2004), 1 in 8000 in the case of insertive vaginal sex, 1 in 1000 in the case of insertive anal sex, and between 1 in 100 to 1 in 30 in the case of receptive anal sex. Blood or blood product route. This transmission route is particularly important for intravenous drug users, hemophiliacs and recipients of blood transfusions and blood products. Health care workers (nurses, laboratory workers, doctors, etc) are also concerned, although more rarely. Also concerned by this route are people who give and receive tattoos and piercings. Mother-to-child route. The transmission of the virus from the mother to the child can occur in utero during the last weeks of pregnancy and at childbirth. Breast feeding also presents a risk of infection for the baby. In the absence of treatment, the transmission rate between the mother and child was 20%. However, where treatment is available, combined with the availability of Cesarian section, this has been reduced to 1%. HIV has been found in the saliva, tears and urine of infected individuals, but due to the low concentration of virus in these biological liquids, the risk is considered to be negligible. AIDS is the most severe manifestation of infection with HIV. Acute HIV infection progresses over time to clinical latent HIV infection and then to early symptomatic HIV infection and later, to AIDS, which is identified on the basis of certain infections. You can get HIV at-home test kits at Walgreen's.

What makes HIV AIDS controversial

its a nasty disease, I don't mean to sound rude but I really wish in the u.s. all ppl with the disease need to registered on an aids registry. No one should be ashamed to have it. Key is prevention of the spread of aids.
2 :
It's controversial because: --A lot of people associate it with homosexuals (typically male) and they are very hateful towards them. --People can assume that just because you have HIV/AIDS, that you're acting like a prostitute and sleeping with many people. --If you have HIV/AIDS and don't tell someone you're having sex with that you do, and they get it, you can be arrested. There are a lot of different reasons why it's controversial--I would suggest not only get opinions from people, but look up stuff from other STD sites and get some facts rather than just a couple opinions here on Answers :>

Um no. Hetero sex spread HIV as well.

Who said there were no black gays?? Nowadays i think black males in USA have caught up with white males as far as being gay what makes it worse for black men being gay is there aren't as many black men in USA as white men...therefore less black children will be made i find it sad, im blessed to have found a good black man... but homosexuality among blacks is not secret. It is in the open, many females just choose to ignore the signs because of desperation for finding a good black man I BELIEVE black women are single because of so many gay black men, not because black men are dating out of their race that is my opinion
11 :
HIV has nothing to do with homosexulaity, it has something to do with no protection. Don't be a fool, wrap your tool.

HELL NAW!! sum brothaz just 2 lazy 2 use a damm condon wit a sista
13 :
Most likely you patronize the Black community, if you know so much about the homos there.

I also have issues with HIV. I posted my question on wish123 and got an answer from an expert who solved my problem. Highly recommend the website.

no to all you get aids from infected blood or semen aka bodily fluids use of a condom is as they say 99% efective in all stds nothing is 100%
2 :
1. No 2. No 3. No 4. No
3 :
No. This is what people used to think back in the '80s during the first few years AIDS had started to become an epidemic.
4 :
1. no 2. no 3. no 4. in some cases yes. no condom is 100% safe from protecting you from HIV. And you can get stds by wearing a condom, bcuz the condom doesn't cover the scrotom, only the head to the shaft. So if person has genital herpes, and you have sex with them regardless if you wear a condom, you will get gential herpes.

How is HIV/AIDS slowing down the development of LEDCs? (less economically developed countires)

How is HIV/AIDS slowing down the development of LEDCs? (less economically developed countires)?

1 :
When the desease is unchecked you will literally loose a generation or more of the developing people. Children will be born with HIV and vener grow up to contribute to the advancement of their country.pp
2 :
in LEDC's, all money that the government gets is spent on the weakest of areasin the economy. And in LEDC's poor people cant afford condoms and then get infections/diseases and have to go to the hospital/medical service. So more and more money has to go on improving the health services than that could b spent on other areas within the country or city such as creating jobs, new affordable home and education
3 :
There are multiple reasons. In an LEDC with a large HIV/AIDS population, here are some of the problems: 1. Many children are left without parents, or left without highly capable parents, because they are ill. 2. Poor availability of medical care means that HIV/AIDS patients die much faster than in other countries. 3. More people die at a younger age than normal, creating a deficit of highly knowledgeable and well-trained individuals. 4. More money must be diverted to health care, and away from other types of services that are also desperately needed. 5. Focus on helping these countries from more developed countries switches to palliative treatments of the disease, as opposed to aid in other areas. 6. The long incubation period between when a person becomes HIV positive and when a person develops AIDS means that the disease becomes more widely spread more quickly. It also makes containing and controlling the disease more difficult. A country hit by something that kills very quickly suffers significant immediate damage, but then can refocus all of its efforts on rebuilding. A country hit by something like HIV/AIDS has a persistent problem diverting resources and destroying the population for decades.

I am certified with AIDS. Usually people when they first get aids. They usually get a symptoms at first like a flu or cold. After the virus has been in the system for two weeks. Right after that it goes away which is why allot people do not get checked. Then they start waking up at night sweating. They start getting sick allot. Allot of them get Kaposi's Sarcoma it is cancer rash. It common with people with aids. It common for them to get cancer. Aids is a immune disorder. You rarely ever hear someone say ''he died of aids.''. Most the time people with aids get cancer. If you are not familiar with what cancer is. It is a bad cell. Allot times are immune system recognize that bad cell destroys it. What happens when people have Aids is their bodies defense is so poor becuase the cd4 cells are infected that it can not fight that over active cell. So they get cancer. Or a simple cold could kill them. It deadly to them. You can get AIDs through syringes, breast milk, blood semen, vagina discharge. You can not get aids through sweat, nor tears. HIV means you have the virus in you. Once it starts infecting cells then it is full blown aids. The reason you can not cure aids. It because it always infecting cd4 cells.(lymcyotes) As fast as your body produces them is as fast as it infects them. as HIV infect the body it uses CD4..(lymcyotes) to make copy's of itself. Each day the body makes billions of CD4 cells. The virus infects them. After infected the number of Cd4 cells go down. CD4 cells fight infection. Eventually they become infected. HIV usually wins but they can make medications to slow down the process. It always mutating! As far as life expectancy goes AIDs effects everyone different. Some people live 20 years with AIDs. While others live ten years with AIDs. Hope I could help! I am not a doctor. I can not diagnosis you just give you the best medical advice based on my scope of practice.
2 :
Most of the time there are no symptoms. Some people experience mild flu like symptoms in the early stages of contracting HIV but like I said most people do not experience any symptoms for months even years. You need to be tested 30 days after exposure to HIV and then 6 months after exposure. Some people take longer to build up the antibodies that are detected in a HIV test so you must test atleast 1 month, and then 6 months after exposure. If you test too soon you will not get an accurate result. There are oral tests (where they swab your cheek) or blood tests (where they draw blood from your vein) which both of these tests are accurate at detecting HIV antibodies.
3 :
ARS Symptoms are first to appear. These are very broad symptoms that a person has whenever infected by a retro virus. These are just very common things fever etc. This happens around 1 month to 1 month and 2 weeks. After that it lies dormant and symptoms can hide for 10 years.

Who has the best policy on dealing with HIV/AIDS in America

Who has the best policy on dealing with HIV/AIDS in America?
Here are some problems: Huckabee is totally out of it on this one - he still refuses to admit that HIV is not an airborne virus and still thinks that only "sinful" people have it. Hillary, on the other hand wants to throw alot of money at the cause but her focus is not on the USA alone - she wants to help Africa too. It's a nice thought, but Americans want her to be concerned with THEM in this election - not Africa. So who else should we be looking at on this issue?

How about the people themselves.
2 :
Send HIV/AIDS people to Canada where the LIBTARDS are entranced by their universal health care system...
3 :
My guess would be the Dems. As it is AIDS gets more research money than some of the bigger killers such as heart disease so I wouldn't complain too much if I were you.
4 :
well, we already made promises to africa with GWB, we can't pay for peoples meds then all the sudden cut them off and let them die -

Without treatment, how long can a person with HIV/ AIDS expect to live

Without treatment, how long can a person with HIV/ AIDS expect to live?
How fast does it progress? I know that everyone is different, but lets just talk in generalities. btw, I don't have HIV, it's just a topic of conversation i was having earlier with coworkers.

HIV or Human Immunodeficiency Virus, is a retrovirus, meaning that it mutates rapidly. This means that life expectancy would vary from person to person, depending on their strains. In some cases, HIV can develop symptoms with weeks and a person could develop AIDS within a year. (YOU DON"T DIE FROM AIDS. You die because the human body's defense system of white blood cells is depleted.) In other cases, HIV may not even present a positive result on a test with 6 months, and symptoms may not develop for up to 10 years.
2 :
I don't think there are numbers or statistics that can answer that questions. Everybody is different. I have known people that do drugs, drink, smoke etc and are positive but get sick once a year. Then there are people that do everything possible to stay healthy and they get sick. I've seen "normal" cases too where people take their meds, eat well etc and hardly ever get sick. But one would think if you are positive and eatting horrible, drinking/smoking, doing drugs, that you would get sick all the time. One of my ex's was positive and smoked a lot. He got sick a few times in the year, but when he did it would last for 2/3 weeks- pretty scary! As for the progression, that just depends on strong or weak of the strain is someone has. Check out the link below- it has lots of info about types, subtypes, the most common strains and least common. OOOO, and I would personally say that an average person not taking meds, and that eats bad and drinks or smokes would live for maybe 5 to 10 years before getting real sick. Good topic to discuss =0) After reading dude above me, the people that it takes 6 months to detect are considered rare cases. About 96 to 97% of people will be detectable by the 3rd month. (plus or minus a few,but still that number is pretty high and people should be getting tested regularly if you sleep around).
3 :
There are many variables that can increase or decrease the rate of progression in someone with HIV disease. Genetics, age, general health, strain of HIV, adherence to medications, etc. Averages (without HIV-specific treatment) (in North America) It can take around 8-10 years for major symptoms to show up, even after that a person would most likely live a few years with major symptoms and around 3 years once an AIDS diagnosis was made (assuming they were getting medical care for the opportunistic infections they may be fighting). Again as you mentioned, these are averages. Some people get infected and progress to AIDS in a few years (never heard of a few weeks as was mentioned above...), others can live with HIV for much longer without treatment. Some people don't seem to progress. They are called long term non-progressors (or more recently, Elite controllers). These people seem to have a genetic mutation that helps their body fight off HIV infection and keep it at bay. An even smaller percentage of people carry two copies of the mutated gene and seem to have 100% protection from even getting infected (more research is being done on this now.)

How can I draw a picture which depicts HIV/AIDS

How can I draw a picture which depicts HIV/AIDS?
HIV has no face, so I cant just draw a person . . . There would need to be a big building behind them which reads "AIDS CLINIC" or something.... or somewhere in the picture , would need to be a red awareness ribbon . How do I draw HIV?
Drawing & Illustration - 4 Answers

1 :
Draw a sample of a regular cell and the difference of an HIV cell.
2 :
Here are links to pages of illustrations, pictures of the AIDS cell, charts and diagrams bout the disease, symbols and cartoons about HIV/AIDS. These images should trigger some good ideas for you for your project. How about the graphic symbols for male and female... the circle and slanted arrow, and the circle with a cross, intersecting with the curved, pink awareness ribbon? Maybe with an sad eye with a tear added? Good Luck on your project.
3 :
You're right, HIV has no face, but it also has every face. No one is protected, which is why everyone should be. I think you should just draw some people, but forget the clinic background. It would be much more powerful to show that there is no line between the two in appearance. I've been HIV+ for a decade now and I'm a professional graphic designer. I don't, however, usually find myself walking in front of AIDS clinics! But go with your gut; make a point.

a giant sign reading F******** or my real answer :P could you show the effects i has on lives?

Do you think that there will ever be a cure or that there is already one and the govertment doesnt want us to know?

There is no cure. I work or a university that is working on one, but it is a long ways off. As for early signs, maybe flu like symptoms, maybe, there are no signs. If a person is HIV+ does not get tested, it can take 10-12 years to have any signs.

In the old days, it would have meant the bride couldn't wear a white wedding dress. Nowadays, practically everyone has had sex before marriage - not all, but a lot. Some people regard marriage as the only right and proper place for sex, and that it should only occur between a man and his wife.

Do your school work yourself.
2 :
A blood test can determine exposure to the HIV virus. HIV infection means the virus is in your body. AIDS is defined by certain opportunistic infections.
3 :
HIV is the virus that can lead to AIDS. HIV is found by a simple antibody test, called an Elisa test, a western blot test is the confirmatory test. HIV is a viral STD. The determination of AIDS is based on the T-Cell count, normal T-Cells for a person run between 800 and 1400, when the T-Cell drops below 200 it become an AIDS diagnosis, or if a HIV+ person has a lot of opportunistic infection a Doctor can make an AIDS diagnosis. I am a trainer for HIV prevention
4 :
You are going to have to source your own data. HIV is the virus that ultimately may lead to AIDS. AIDS is when your immune system is so poor that a secondary infection puts you at the risk of death. This is years later, maybe 10-15 years as of 2000. Something as simple as a cold can trigger the total collapse of the human immune system if you have nothing left to fight it off.
