It will depend on what type of insurance the person has. The best way to obtain this information is to contact the insurance carrier directly. Many insurance companies do cover the cost of medications for HIV/AIDS now. It may also depend on whether it was a pre-existing condition that was present when the policy was obtained. There should be a number on the back of the identification card if they are already covered and you can call to ask any questions you may have. If the person is not currently covered by an insurance plan then it may be hard to get coverage if they already have the disease.

If you have a health insurance and that you get tested for HIV and the result comes back negative, but later on you get it, I believe that you are coverd. But if the result is positive and you want a health insurance, they are not going to cover it. my health insurance policy is that they cover everything i have that is not genetic and that i did not have 48 hours after my birthday.
