Nope, impossible, it must be when your "doing it" or when you and the person who has AIDS have a blood to blood contact.
2 :
It's theoretically possible, but very unlikely. You have to be unlucky enough to get some of their blood into an open wound in your mouth. But oral sores aren't terribly uncommon, and many people have gums that bleed, so again it is technically possible, although extremely unlikely.
3 :
it's extremely unlikely. you'd have to swallow liters of the other person's saliva to have a chance of contracting it. unless the infected person has sores or some time of open wound in their mouth. in that case, infection is a little more at risk.
4 :
Sores in a person with HIV are not the issue my dear, ITS THE SORE IN YOUR MOUTH THAT WILL ALLOW the virus in yr patners saliva or blood transmit the infection. if your whole skin is intact, you are safe.
5 :
YES YOU CAN if the person has an open wound ... ,like lets say they bit their check while chewing up some food. of while brushing their teeth their gums bleed and still have some blood in their mouth. But you yourself must have an open wound in your mouth or that while you were brushing your teeth your gums bleed . this means that their is an open spot that get into the blood stream. from saliva never going to happen you can not get the virus from just a normal kiss , hug, a toilet seat, a drinking fountain a drinking cup. deep kissing like french kissing had a better chance. blood transfer the most possible way. the health clinic can test you in a few minutes they will just give you a check swab and run a test real fast like5-15 min and you know id you have the possible virus. but if you think you are then find out fast . you have a 2 hour window that they can start the meds that will kill the virus so you don't get sick from HIV. i know i promise i used to work in a prison all the new employees were told that we have two hours to get medical attention if we get stuck by a needle to start the meds so it can kill the virus. the changes so fast and from at a rate so fast that it can't be stopped from growing after this point and the meds you take after you have it will only keep it from multiplying but it still kills your white blood cells this is why a person can no longer fight off any sicknesses
6 :
No. This will never happen. NO RISK.

would you have sex with a person if you knew that him/her was infected with the HIV/ Aids virus

would you have sex with a person if you knew that him/her was infected with the HIV/ Aids virus?
Just curious as to peoples opinions. I don't believe that I could. I guess it would have to depend on the circumstances. Hypothetical situation 1: My husband contracts HIV through a blood transfusion. I would still be intimate with him. Hypothetical situation 2: One night stand . No way

It would be totally dependant on what sex and if that person was my former lover.
2 :
Hypothetical situation 3: Been dating for a while and it's time to take the next step, but they tell you they have aids beforehand. Definately not. Dealbreaker. Maybe it's kind of cruel, but we're not married, so I would not want to continue that relationship. I agree that if it was my husband who contracted it innocently (no cheating) then I would still be intimate with him, protected, of course. One night stand, don't have those anyway :)
3 :
answer is no to all situations
4 :
If my gf had HIV, I would still be intimate with her, but if I were to have sex with her i would use a condom. I would never have a one night stand, i respect women way too much
5 :
I would have to say no to all situations.
6 :
probably not. maybe oral
7 :
My answer is NO for all situations. Don't risk your life!

Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) is a retrovirus that causes acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS), a condition in humans in which the immune system begins to fail, leading to life-threatening opportunistic infections. Previous names for the virus include human T-lymphotropic virus-III (HTLV-III), lymphadenopathy-associated virus (LAV), and AIDS-associated retrovirus (ARV).[1][2] Infection with HIV occurs by the transfer of blood, semen, vaginal fluid, pre-ejaculate, or breast milk. Within these body fluids, HIV is present as both free virus particles and virus within infected immune cells. The three major routes of transmission are unprotected sexual intercourse, contaminated needles, and transmission from an infected mother to her baby at birth, or through breast milk. Screening of blood products for HIV in the developed world has largely eliminated transmission through blood transfusions or infected blood products in these countries. HIV infection in humans is now pandemic. As of January 2006, the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) and the World Health Organization (WHO) estimate that AIDS has killed more than 25 million people since it was first recognized on December 1, 1981, making it one of the most destructive pandemics in recorded history. In 2005 alone, AIDS claimed an estimated 2.4–3.3 million lives, of which more than 570,000 were children. It is estimated that about 0.6% of the world's living population is infected with HIV.[3] A third of these deaths are occurring in sub-Saharan Africa, retarding economic growth and increasing poverty.[4] According to current estimates, HIV is set to infect 90 million people in Africa, resulting in a minimum estimate of 18 million orphans.[5] Antiretroviral treatment reduces both the mortality and the morbidity of HIV infection, but routine access to antiretroviral medication is not available in all countries.[6] more below

You're looking for the infamous June 5, 1981 edition of the CDC's Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report. Of course, at that time, nobody knew what it was yet so HIV or AIDS isn't referred to directly in this article, but this is regarded as "the first" published reports of AIDS causing infections not normally found in immunocompetent humans. CDC. Pneumocystis pneumonia --- Los Angeles. MMWR 1981;30:250--2. weblink:http://amcat.org/pubs/mmwr/1981/MM3021.html

I hope these two sites will help you in your project http://www.avert.org/origins.htm http://www.avert.org/his81_86.htm Both sites will lead you to other information gong back to the 70"s Good luck

a good place to go would be pubmed or medline. problem is sometimes accessing the article since generally many articles require some sort of subscription, which may be possible through a workplace or university.

Check out the link below. It explains how and when the virus was first discovered back in the 80s. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hiv#Origin_and_discovery
