Does someone having a lesion on the back of their neck mean they have HIV/AIDS

Does someone having a lesion on the back of their neck mean they have HIV/AIDS?
This is a serious question, in my class our teacher has what it appears to be 1 or 2 spots of lesions on his neck, does it mean he has HIV or can somebody have lesions for simply something else that isn't serious? Thanks, alot my classmates and I are really worried and want to find out if lesions is exclusive to severe illnesses like HIV/AIDS.

Why doesn't somebody ask her? Lesions from AIDS would be late stage AIDS and she probably wouldn't be working. AIDS is NOT contagious. Are they birthmarks? here is a table of about 25 other things it could be. http://www.aafp.org/afp/980915ap/rose.html

Lesions are not a sign of HIV, so no worries there. To be honest, HIV has no real symptoms. You could be infected and never know about it, until you're knocked flat by an opportunistic infection (like certain kinds of pneumonia) which take advantage of the weakened immune system. The source of lesions could be several things, however those are beyond my expertise. I'm just here to let you know HIV is not the cause of them. If he had an advanced stage of AIDS which allowed for lesions, he would be hospitalized, not teaching in class. His immune system would be in tatters.
