I would say that it is a virus you get from bodily fluids. You can get it from vaginal fluid, semen, breast milk, and blood. It attacks the immune system, especially the CD4 cells until the host is too weak to fight off illnesses. When a person's CD4 count reaches 200 or less it is considered AIDS. I would also tell them that you can prevent HIV by practicing safe sex and not sharing needles. Also, tell them about the treatments they now have that are helping people live longer healthier lives with HIV.
