Do you think that you can catch HIV/AIDS from a mosquito

Do you think that you can catch HIV/AIDS from a mosquito?
I heard that they can get the blood from one person and carry it to another. But what I hear today is that HIV can only be received by bodily fluids!

I don't believe enough blood is in a mosquito to give you AIDS
2 :
STOP it lol just stop it...
3 :
NO definitely not. The mosquito does not reinject the blood it eats.
4 :
The results of experiments and observations of insect biting behavior indicate that when an insect bites a person, it does not inject its own or a previously bitten person's or animal's blood into the next person bitten. Rather, it injects saliva, which acts as a lubricant so the insect can feed efficiently. HIV lives for only a short time inside an insect and, unlike organisms that are transmitted via insect bites, HIV does not reproduce (and does not survive) in insects. Thus, even if the virus enters a mosquito or another insect, the insect does not become infected and cannot transmit HIV to the next human it bites. http://aids.about.com/od/technicalquestions/f/bugrisk.htm
5 :
no... the only ways HIV/AIDS can be transfered is through 1.blood 2.semen 3.vaginal fluid 4. breast milk
6 :
no
7 :
A mosquito does not have the body temperature to pass the aids virus on as the aid virus would die in the mosquito. So the answer would be no.

Is HIV/AIDS the leading cause of death in gay men

Is HIV/AIDS the leading cause of death in gay men?
If not, what is? In America. RK - It's a hardcore FACT that HIV is primarily associated with gay men, as far as AMERICA is concerned. Why don't you check the statistics with the CDC before you spout off nonsense. You're doind a disservice to your fellow LGBT.

No... I remember reading some article that said it was smoking.
2 :
It's a misconception that HIV/AIDS is primarily a concern with only gay men. HIV and AIDs spreads no matter what a person's sexuality is. As for another cause of death, where do they live and what is their life style choices. Perhaps it's smoking.
3 :
Nope. It's heart disease followed by cancer, just like straight men.
4 :
Yes, HIV/AIDS is the leading cause of death in gay men. The majority of gay men just love bath houses and whether they go to bath houses or not many gay men have too many partners and just keep passing the disease around. You don't have to go to a bath house to spread it. Alot of the men don't care if they have the disease, they will just keep having unprotected sex. Sex is not worth all the pain and suffering that anyone can get and will have later on in life. HIV/AIDS doesn't go away, but the pleasure sex give you for a short amount of time will. Straight males and females have HIV/AIDS as well, but they dont go to bath houses waiting in line to have sex with the person next in line like gay men do. Bath houses are still very popular even though the guys know what they are risking themselves for. P.S. : Nick and hank need to do their homework, its HIV/AIDS. Heart disease is nowhere near the leading cause. http://www.examiner.com/dc-in-washington-dc/hiv-aids-a-gay-man-s-disease-again
5 :
for the love of god don't listen to nonnickname, hiv and aids is not the leading cause of death in gay men, It's heart disease followed by cancer, just as Hank said.
6 :
Seems that you have done some research already. But not enough. In 1990 the leading cause of death for all men 25-44 was unintentional Injury. Today it is the same. In 1990 the #2 cause of death for all men 25-44 was HIV/AIDS. Today it is #9 Today the leading cause of death for homosexual men 25-44 is still Unintentional Injury, followed by Heart Disease, Cancer, HIV/AIDS, Suicide and Homicide. HOWEVER, the leading cause of death in our youth is not in the top 4 above. Ages 12-24 the leading cause of death is suicide of which more than 30% are homosexual. CDC and AVERT.org for references. http://www.avert.org/america.htm The rate of increase in the homosexual community has remained stable for about 15 year as a whole, however, the 12-24 age group is not learning from the past as the rate of infection has inched up about 2% in the last 5 years. WHY? There is a very simple answer to that but I don't think you will believe it based upon your hostile remark above. The Religious/Political Right has attacked every effort to teach full sex education in our schools for about 10 years now. The ruling out of any basic sex education that includes sexual orientation and the special needs of precautions needed by those students and instead teaching "abstinence only" is an abysmal failure. Rates of general STD's has gone through the roof. A perfect example of this is the TV advertising for various medications for Genital Herpes and the huge increase in clamidia. Right along with the increases in these STD's has been HIV in the 12-24 age group. The single most vunerable group when not give FULL disclosure education on the disease. Frankly, the biggest "disservice" being done to our society as a whole is the repression of HIV/AIDS education for EVERYONE!! starting in the elementary schools and for all types of diseases as well. When I was in school some 50 years ago, we got the whole truth about STD's. Today they don't do but one day out of the school year on these types of diseases all because some overly religious busybody sticks their noses where it don't belong, the general welfare of our nations health. PUBLIC HEALTH is everyones responsibility. That includes full disclosure on ALL STD's and other fatal diseases.

If you have HIV you are remanded by law to inform any sexual partners you may have, the doctors will tell you this when diagnosed. Other sexually transmitted diseases can be tricky. If it is a know n fact and he or she was told by a doctor their prognosis. than there could be some legal ramifications on your part. Seek a lawyer on your area and try to work pro bono hope this helped friend!

This is an Axia course question for the weeks assignment. This is cheating. Not to mention I live in Texas also and have to answer this question. The answer that was first given is incorrect for this state. do some research. You'll find more to it then just it being a law to tell your partner.
