What happens if you have HIV/AIDS but never get tested

What happens if you have HIV/AIDS but never get tested?
I know you would eventually get sick but what happens if you never really get diagnosed and don't take the medicine? How long would you live and what would it be like. I know it screws up your immune system or something but what exactly happens?

Basicly it kills this very importAnt cell in your body that tell the rest of molicuse what too do when your infected. So basicly if you were to get a cold there would be nothing you could do about it and it would slowly kill you from the inside because the body dosnt know what to do. Thats why the medicine dosnt really "cure" it, it just prolongs the persons life.

At first the number of colds and flus you get goes up a little. You are sick more. Then at some point your entire immune system collapses, and you start to get lots of weird diseases. Types if mold that are no match for the immune system of the typical infant can be devastating diseases. If you are lucky, this wouldn't happen for ten years. A few people experience the "immune system collapse" after just a few years, and a few may not experience it for 20, but I think 10 years is normal.

You die within 2-5 years

You die. You can die very ugly because of Kaposi sarcoma. 6-8 years is average life expectancy from infection to the end. Last 2 years will be horrific. http://www.metapathogen.com/HIV-1/HIV-1-disease-progression.html
