So yeah. I'm just thinking. Is it like 'it's associated with gay people... therefore it's gay punishment hallelujah' or is it that 'yeah, it's from god to gays... and them and them and them and them? Or has this few year old consensus died out yet?

As a Bi Christian without any of that, I wonder too! Instead of compassion, it's politics with my brethren. I wonder how much politics it takes before my brethren will begin to appreciate the Gospel again? What a shame!

I think this was once an accepted mentality about HIV but I don't think few people honestly believe this now. If they do, they are among the minority who are narrow minded, fundamentalists who fail to understand the disease and who just like to randomly blame the gay population for the WRONGS of the world. HIV certainly has roots in unprotected SEX but hardly just with or because of gay people.... WE ARE all subject to this disease regardless of our gender or sexual orientation - MOST sensible and reasonable people understand that now.

I think only a few so-called Christians actually believe that God would do that. Like the Hillsboro Baptist Church. They basically say that America as a whole is being punished for our sinful lifestyle, including AIDS and the deaths of soldiers in Afghanistan as part of God's punishment. Whatever.

Real Christians don't say that. Anyone can call themselves Christian and even believe it but the gospel teaches not to judge. The bible teaches that God is not a respecter of persons, in other words, he doesn't care about a person station in life. God can save a person with HIV as well as any one else. Jesus was asked why he consorted with the lowest class of people, he set them straight. It may have been a consensus among a noisy relatively (I hope) few, but I hope it has died out. That church that picketed gay funerals has had legal action taken against it. Actions like that are not inspired by God, rather the opposite, to make Christians look bad.

Lets try and understand the association, Sin is sin for one and sin has ramifications sexual impurity gay or straight has proven to be a carrier of all kinds of social diseases besides Aids, VD and a host of others those that are sinning bear this burden the most. All will bear the burden as well because of the way society has handled the sin calling it natural or whatever and then not taking precautions and the disease spreads like a wild fire. Who's to blame? well with aids here is a unique history aids is a well studied disease and it's spread from one isolated area has proven to be from one single gay man. Is he to blame for the whole situation? yes and no. As in Adam of the original sin as the Bible says all have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God as in this fellow bringing aids to all, well you do the science.

The real question should be: If God gave AIDS to the gays, then how did the Christians get it? O.o When you come to realize that there is no perfect Christian, you can see how big of hypocrites most of them are.

As a Christian I can say that these are ignorant answers, and easy to flip off. We are all under the sin of Adam, and whether it be death, disease, famine, natural or man-made disaster we are all affected by the fallen, decaying, cursed world we live in. The world that we know is dominated for a time, by the devil and man God has let us "have at her" so to speak. All we have to do is read the news to see the truth in the evidence around us. To say that God targets a certain group with a specific affliction is false, particularly since Jesus' paid mans debt on the cross. In his words, "It is finished". However, God allows all of the above to happen, but will intercede as we pray and ask for His intercession in our lives.

This disease is transmitted via sexual contact and blood borne. HIV/aids will affect people in 2 ways. (1) The bible only condones the act of sex when a man & woman is married. If one abstain from sex until marriage & doesn't commit the act of adultery this cannot happen Gen 2:24, Eph 5:31,Heb 13:4, Rom 7:2-3, 1 Th 4:3,. (2) This can also be contracted through contaminated blood being also a blood borne disease. The intake of blood by blood transfusions can extremely put a person at risk. So if the council at Acts 15:29 is taken literally you will enjoy good health from that level.
