One of the most critical challenge is to define and characterize HIV/AIDS counseling in S.Africa. Every day in S.Africa 1,000 more people contract HIV 5.4million by 2015 will die from this1.8 by end of 2008. This is leaving children to live either with relatives or alone in the streets so children don't understand the mess there country is in and with adults dropping dead from this disease who will teach them the disease is deadly! This affects the work force big time men dieing and leaving no one to work these jobs so inflating is causing the training process to be lower plus drug use has alot to do with poor job performance as well missed days or don't care that drug is more important than a job to some.The labor surplus is affected as well, the economy, mining industry has been hit the hardest by HIV/AIDS. Men leave home to work at these mines for months to support the family but then act out with being with another man sometimes not knowing one may have HIV /AIDS then returns home to infect the wife or G/F the cycle goes on.

Lack of education about HIV transmission: Many people in Africa who have HIV believe that having sex with a virgin will cure them. As a result, the virus is just spread to more and more people, many of whom are very young.
